Finally milking my goats! This has been a long time coming. I had plans on starting this journey into dairy goats and all things home dairy for a couple years now, but then life. I am at a point now where I can make that a reality. I am so proud of this girl, she stood so still for me and didn't fuss a bit! I am over the moon with excitement and already brainstorming what to make first. And those extra legs in the back? Yea lesson learned. Don't milk her with the other goats around.

So I've always imagined a few milking goats on my little homestead when I'm older and actually getting to milk ole Dolly here every morning for the last week or so has confirmed that I will indeed have milking goats one day lol. Now for the alpacas and donkies, who are surprisingly growing on me, I still can't say that I'll have any on the future farm... Well... maybe I'll have a donkie if not a horse. Who knows! The commitment of a dairy animal is huge, and it can be a big deterrent for people. No way around it, it is a commitment and it has to take priority. This may mean working your life around morning and evening milkings.
