I’m just average. I really am. I’ve also hidden under the glow of who I am and what I’ve done for the past two years with my business and the community that has come along with that. I don’t talk about this often but I am the oldest of a blended family so naturally I am a caregiver always putting others first. Divorce is hard, the bouncing back from house-to-house is hard, being the “strong one” who doesn’t show emotions is hard. I’m also a strong believer that life gives us things and situations to create us into the warrior we are meant to be. So I initially started coaching for me because I wasn’t the wife, sister, friend, daughter I wanted to be. I had spent 23 years serving everyone else around me and letting myself fall into a really dark place. Coaching was the first thing I had done for myself in years and to become the Meredith I once knew. If I hadn’t decided I was meant for something more I would stilll be working those two jobs sand going to grad school only because I felt like I had to. Not because I wanted to. I wouldn’t be the wife Drake deserves or the future mom my kids look up to. The path I’ve traveled in life was no accident and I have every intention to use my experiences to help others. We spend our life thinking that what we do isn’t that great or special, but in reality what we do really matters and we have all the power to change our current situation. But maybe you need that reminder at this very moment that you are a freaking rockstar. You are not just average. You are doing the best you can right now with what you have but don’t ever So no, I’m not just average. I am an AMAZING 20-something, wife, friend, business owner, coach, sister, and daughter. I don’t do anything crazy but I do show up for the things that matter because I know I’m not an accident and neither are you. Make something of the time you have here and realize how special you are ❤️

My new friend and fellow @mikemeyersignpainter workshop attendee @kamomenotamago is visiting from Japan. We’ve been doing our best to give/show her as many Midwest experiences as possible during her time here. One of the things that she has especially loved has been her introduction to lightning bugs. Reasons to Love Minnesota No. 95: Every Wednesday and third Sunday of the month between May and October is pizza night at Red Barn Farm in Northfield. Located less than an hour from the Twin Cities, the idyllic setting is a 10-acre farm specializing in pesticide-free produce — much of which lands on the 10,000 wood-fired pies they bake every year. ⁣ ⁣ That’s been the story for the last decade, at least—until a devastating storm flattened Tammy and Patrick Winter’s farm in September ‘18, destroying the iconic red barn that had become a staple of the South Central Minnesota wedding circuit. (@redbarnfarmofnfld is so popular for private events, people book it two years in advance!) ⁣ Here’s the good news: A community-driven @gofundme campaign raised nearly $20,000 for the farm’s recovery—enough to get the Winters back on their feet for summer. A new barn is set to open soon; in the meantime, their pizza farm is running on schedule, with Northfield’s @justfoodcoop supplying locally sourced ingredients while the family regrows its onions, peppers, squash, spinach, tomatoes, and basil. ⁣ ⁣ Like other pizza farms throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, RBF has a few rules you should know beforehand. One, it accepts cash and personal checks only. A 16-inch specialty pie costs $25, a four-cheese pizza costs $20, and cauliflower crust is $15. Walk-up orders are accepted between 4 and 8:30 p.m. in June, July, and August; 4 and 8 p.m. in September; and 4 and 7:30 p.m. in October. Sunday hours are always 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Reservations are not required, but customers are encouraged to arrive on the early or late side to avoid long waits at peak hours. ⁣ ⁣ Also note: Red Barn Farm isn’t a restaurant. You’re expected to BYO plates, utensils, and beverages, plus a blanket if you’re feeling picnic fancy. We recommend stopping by @chapelbrewingmn in Dundas on your way over. Its current take-away crowlers include a dry Brut IPA and a supremely drinkable Kolsch that should play nice with a Sour Pig pizza topped with olive oil, sausage, onion, and sauerkraut.

Officially meet Kobe ⁣ ⁣ I’ve wanted a golden retriever for as long as I can remember, and I’m so excited to finally have one. This little guy is a handful, but so totally worth it. We are soaking up all the puppy cuddles while he’s still so small I’m loving his ears that are too big for his head and the wrinkles of too much skin on his nose. I swear he’s already grown in this week that we’ve had him.
