TAKING ADVANTAGE • Since I have had this account, I get DMs from people pretty regularly telling me that they love my Instagram page. One would think that it’s flattering, but the next thing they say is that they could help with my symptoms and help me earn a full-time income with part-time work. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. ‍♀️ - First of all, if my entire medical team has a hard time controlling things at times with cutting edge medicine, there’s no way their product(s) will do anything. Second of all, it’s really predatory because they prey on sick people (some of) whom are desperate to get some relief and make some money. Third, they aren’t honest about how these MLMs (or “direct sales” ) companies work. The way they make most of their money is through people buying in to the company so they can sell products, but keep in mind most of their profits are not from product sales. - Bottom line is: I’m not your business plan. My illness is not for your profit. ⚠️

My first three years in this industry went something like this: See other people who were being paraded around for the current success they were having, living a life that I wanted and succeeding at doing what it was that I was “trying” to do, then drop whatever it was I was currently doing and start modeling exactly what THEY were doing. Repeat repeat repeat. I THOUGHT they had a secret. I THOUGHT that because they were having success with what they were doing and I WASN’T (yet) that clearly this indicated that what was I was doing must be wrong, what they were doing was definitely right — and that I needed to spend my time studying them, copying them, recreating their exact activities and processes so that I could achieve their success. What this looks like, played out over three years, is spinning in circles and ending up in the exact same place that I started off. It’s great to have people who inspire you, and it’s awesome to admire what they’ve worked to achieve, and also to remember- you are not them. BE YOU. The shift happened when I changed lanes, got on another freeway and realized there was NO ONE TO COPY. I had to blaze my own trail and I thank God every day for that opportunity because it gave me the gift of stepping into my own light, my own power and my own abilities to go to seed on an idea. Not to try on a new “sales tactic” or “opportunity script,” not to spend hours analyzing and changing and comparing myself to other people who I thought knew something that I didn’t - I trusted in and leaned on what I innately knew to be true — that I was a total bad ass and I was going to make it happen. If I could go back to my first 3 years and tell that girl- the one who was brand new to the industry and who spun her wheels for too long- the quiet new mom who had a burning desire to create a life for her son — I would tell her this: Find someone whose energy inspires you. And then Match THAT. Match their consistency. Match their certainty. Match their intensity. And then spend all of your time growing into who God created YOU to be, and since you’re playing the long game, outwork, outrun and outproduce ‘em. It just keeps getting better
