Moms often ask me how I do it all. The truth is- I don’t know, when you’re thrown into certain situations and the situation involves your kids, you just do it. These days I look back at my motherhood journey and wonder how I survived it. It was SO hard and there were SO many days when I wanted to quit. . . Like the day when my daughter’s preschool teacher began to notice her seizures, or the day when I picked up my first bottle of anti-depressants from the pharmacy, or the day when I wondered how my body can hold a third baby because he sat so low in my stomach. I swear I thought he was going to fall right out. It’s SO hard and these hard days aren’t over. I know because I’ve been a mom for 14 years now and 14 year olds are harder than babies sometimes. . . But they say this is what life is all about. They say one day you look around your dinner table and your heart bursts with joy at your grown children and grandchildren. Some days I just live for that one day. And if that one day isn’t enough to keep me going, I visualize another one day. I do that until my mind softens and anxiety is replaced with gratitude. Then I place another photo of my babies on my altar and pray over their lives. I smile at my reflection and tell her she is doing great and that she is more than enough. . . Just dropped this little one off for her last dance class of the year before her big recital this weekend (ie: drive 45 minutes, get the mom sweats trying to perfect a dance bun, and watch her perform on stage for approximately 72.5 seconds...). The pictures will be worth it, though! I’m just so proud of her bravery + willingness to step outside of her comfort zone and try new things. I’ve always been a little stuck in my ways and have a hard time trying new things, but at age four, she reminds me that putting yourself out there and getting a bit uncomfortable is inarguably where the magic happens. ✨ Photo: @kararohlphoto
