- DAY 7 - Today started badly and didn’t really improve until the late afternoon. The first issue was one of my panniers breaking while I loaded up the bike. Luckily I had some bungee cords so I strapped it all down and we headed for the ferry. The second issue was the weather, we got soaked as soon as we set off, then again after the ferry and it didn’t let up until late in the day. We basically spent most of the day cold and wet. - On the plus side the route today was lovely, great roads and really interesting watching the countryside slowly change to being super green. We did also sneak in a few sights along the way and the rain finally let up so we arrived at Loch Lamond fairly dry. - DAY 2 - Todays ride kicked off beautifully thanks to @mmcguireandroid who suggested I take the A701 from Moffat, great road!! Decided to visit the Falkirk Wheel to get an engineering fix and see The Kelpies which were amazing! Then it was time to hit the A9 until Dalwhinnie where I found out @monidh’s flight was delayed. So with time to kill I decided to hook a left and take the A86 towards Loch Ness. I’m soooo glad I did as that stretch of the A86 is probably one of the best roads I’ve ever ridden!!! - DAY 1 - I’d love to say all of my ride from London was as picturesque as the first photo but today was just about covering distance, so it was mostly filled with motorways, rain, petrol stations and more rain. Only brief highlight was riding along the A66, which was full of traffic but the views were so lovely I didn’t care! Oh and my steak pie at @famousstarmoffat!! Привет, друзья! Немного поделюсь впечатлениями о короткой поездке в Европу в этом году. Итак, поехали! Москва-Брест. Здесь писать особо нечего, дорога изъезжена вдоль и поперёк. Привыкли, что со стороны Беларуси дорога всегда была ровной и гладкой. В этом году дорога расстроила очень большим количеством ям, заплаток и дорожных работ. Плюс, я не знаю что входит у них в состав дорожного покрытия, но резина там изнашивается чуть быстрее. Всегда недолюбливал резину марки Metzeller. Не сложилась симпатия к ней и в этот раз, в Бресте пришлось выкинуть оба баллона и поставить родной Dunlop. Отдельное спасибо Брестским парням Диме и Юре за оперативное решение этого вопроса! ✊ Все время нахождения в Бресте, к нам подходили случайные люди и вежливо задавали вопросы про фестиваль, колонну, программу, да и в целом были настроены крайне позитивно. Было видно, что для людей это праздник, а не очередное перекрытие города ради непойми кого! Ну и обязательное посещение Брестской крепости.
