Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar saw a Yemeni man performing Tawaf (circumambulating the Ka’bah in Mecca) while carrying his mother on his back. This man said to Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar, “I am like a tame camel for her! I have carried her more than she carried me. Do you think I have paid her back, oh Ibn ‘Umar?” Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar replied, “No, not even one contraction!!” (Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Bukhari, 1/62)

When it comes to Islam & someone drawing closeness to Allah, I don't believe that wearing the hijab is the FIRST thing you should do.
You should learn more about Allah & develop an immense amount of love for Him so that when you're ready the hijab comes on & it STAYS on
However, there are people who are weak. & not ready to commit or wear the hijab full time. I get it, it takes time
BUT they end up saying that hijab is not important. Or they say that you don't need to wear it. Or it was for the wives of The Messenger ﷺ
All of those excuses are masking the fact that you're just not ready to wear it & that's okay--BUT call out your insecurity. Acknowledge that you're not ready. Mention that insha Allah when the time is right you'll wear it; just don't say that hijab is wrong or you don't NEED to wear it.
Let's acknowledge our shortcomings by becoming more self aware of our own selves & our own shortcomings/weaknesses.
Tell me belowdo you know someone who started to wear the hijab who wasn't? Tell us their story.
TAG a hijabi!! Love you all,
