I have stood under the dome of the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque (in Isfahan), arguably the most beautiful in existence, I have climbed the minarets of the grand Shah Mosque to stare at Naqs-e-Jahan from the eyes of a Safavid, I have grappled with the fragments of the Blue Mosque in Tabriz, I have also been reduced to a mere speck of dust by the Nasr ol Molk in Shiraz and finally I have prostrated without hesitation, repeatedly, in Mashhad, but none of these defeats were preparation.
What to say, how does one armour a human chest of bones and tissue, of soft muscle and heavy blood, from splitting when the light of our glory, so heavily concentrated in this old city, penetrates constantly, in the lowest of frequencies until you are but repeating His name.
This is the land of Musa and Harun, of Yusuf and his father Yaq'ub. The once abandoned and then once found. The sanctuary of faith that restores the full faith and once prepared, one's sight. The place that calls and then once subdued, absolutely delights. Who has not flocked here? Who does not gravitate towards their desert home? Because what else do we do but return to our al-Qahirah and observe our city of victory and our power of seat. Come here and I dare you to leave feeling weak and hopeless.

Mango Sticky Rice. Jajanan wajib tiap ke Bangkok. Paling enak menurut Nona di Khao San Road. Selain harganya juga 50 Baht (di tempat lain banyak yg diatas 100-180 baht), mangganya manis, ketannya pulen, isiannya lumayan banyak juga, coconut milknya enak Mau lagi

Have you ever thought of visiting an airport for a day out? Probably not. But have you seen the recently opened Jewel at Changi Airport, Singapore? It includes gardens, attractions, retail and dining facilities...and the world's largest indoor waterfall (pictured). If you're having a stopover here, shake off that jetlag in the beautiful gardens before your next flight. @changiairport @ill_bandit
MAKANAN HALAL.

On my last day in Islamic Cairo, the seat of power and majestic history, I entered the mausoleum of El-Sayeda Zainab. The granddaughter of the beloved of beloveds - our Muhammad (upon him be peace and blessings). Across the floors of this Mosque and Mausolem lay the poor, the broken and those that seek to escape the heat of the outside world by looking into the coolness of the inner. My relationship with shrines is odd, I visit again and again, firstly to look at the zeal of the pilgrims and their practises, and secondly, perhaps to wonder if in me will awaken the love that others adorn themselves with so easily.
Standing outside the chamber and hesitant to enter, I listened to the singing, unwilling to interrupt or ruin the image I had drawn in my mind, imagining, if only, the love that drives these ordinary people to come and then like birds, sing and wail for all to hear with tight grips on the shrine. As I stood with my eyes shut unaware, I had become an obstacle on the path for those leaving, and as one old man brushed past me I noticed a line of others, all dressed in robes and cloaks, some with wooden walking sticks and others who looked like perpetual pilgrims and travellers. They did not fit in with those around them and I could have easily been in 13th century Cairo if I did not notice my own trousers and shirt. Saints or slaves, they all came and left.
I stepped into the chamber of El-Sayeda Zainab, and witnessed this man clinging on. No other voice has moved me to this extent, except perhaps the man under the si-o-si pol in Isfahan exactly a year ago.
