Cheesing about that deluxe hall life! Just kidding. My residents move in tomorrow!! Crazy to think this is my last year as an RA. There have been amazing memories and experiences, and I’ve had the chance to meet so many accomplished RAs and residents. I can’t help but feel a little melancholy that I’m so close to the end, but I know this year will be the best one yet! Can you guess my floor theme? O.o #towerpower #towerful #mybruinstory
It’s been 10 months since the last time I took this same picture. Today I say goodbye to UC Berkeley and the Landscape Architecture department that gave me my first opportunity as a post-grad. Although I fought tears after saying goodbye to my boss and mentors I wanted to say thank you for fulfilling this kid’s dream of always wanting to go to Cal. It’s been a dream come true this past year. Roll on you bears!
This Is Bruin Life is breath taking. I cried. Come watch our amazing performers this Sunday 9/23 at 2pm in Pauley Pavillion. Oh and by the way, I’m in the show! I watch this show every year and now I have the opportunity to share #MyBRUINstory Shout-out to all of the talent, and the production team for making this iconic show happen! #ThisisBruinLife
Yesterday’s Presentation: “There’s so many stipulations that America has to protect Americans.” - DeVaughn King
•
Just a little more than 3 and a half years ago I became a citizen of the United States. I was born in the Philippines and came to the US in 2002. What a story this is to tell with students who were willing to learn this information.
•
What many that have never had to experience the process of becoming a US Citizen will not understand is the difficulty of becoming one. It is a process. A long, tedious process and many privileges that most people don’t have to actually understand that process. Many people are lucky that it is not an experience they ever have to go through. •
I feel extremely privileged to be a US citizen and I’m more aware of this part of my identity year after year, especially after what the current political climate is like. I spent so much time putting this presentation together because I want to give people the space to learn about this. To learn what it’s like to hold a certain immigration status and what it’s like to live that life. I get this opportunity to educate.
