The reason behind why our bodies love to stay more or less at the same weight: Leptin☝ Leptin is a hormone produced by our fat tissue, with the fat cells releasing the hormone at a fairly constant rate. This means that the more fat a person carries, the more leptin will be produced. In people with normal level of body fat, this is a self-correcting system: if the number of fat cells increases, so does leptin production, which inhibits appetite, thereby keeping fat stores at a constant rate. More leptin produced by the increased number of fat deposits automatically signal satiety to the body, ultimately making you eat less. However, this self-correcting system can get impaired with people with high levels of body fat. A chronic excess of leptin hormone reduces the sensitivity of brain receptors so that they no longer respond to normal signaling levels. This leptin insensitivity is, in fact, one of the major players in excess weight gain‍♀️. #nbleptin #nbweightgain #nbweightloss #nbfat • • • • #foodie #foodblog #foodblogger #plantbased #thefeedfeed #feedfeed #vegetarian #thenewhealthy #eatfrealfood #beautifulcuisines #plantpowered #foodblogfeed #glutenfree #healthyfood #healthysnack #healthyalternative #healthychoices #motivation #inspiration #wellness

The culprit for chronic inflammation☝: Excess Fat Tissue around abdomen All the latest research agrees on one conclusion —> Fat tissues are not passive players inside our bodies. In fact, they are in continuous interaction with the rest of our metabolic systems via their release of hormone-like substances. 2 of these substances, namely tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) are extremely pro-inflammatory molecules that activate the whole body for inflammatory response. Since both of these molecules are constantly secreted by the fat cells, more fat tissue means more inflammatory signaling. When fat tissue is abundant, inflammation becomes an almost constant feature of the whole system. This is what is meant by chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is the underlying reason for almost every disease. Burning the fat around abdomen is essential, life saving, and one of the healthiest things you can do to your body. #nbabdominalfat #nbvisceralfat #nbfat #nbchronicinflammation #nbinflammation • • • • #eatwellbewell #goodeats #food #eatwell #foodie #foodblog #foodblogger #plantbased #thefeedfeed #feedfeed #vegetarian #thenewhealthy #eatfrealfood #beautifulcuisines #plantpowered #foodblogfeed #glutenfree

Why unsaturated fats☝: 1️⃣Unsaturated fats contain unsaturated fatty acids. 2️⃣When you ingest unsaturated fats, unsaturated fatty acids get incorporated into your cell membranes. Similarly, when you ingest saturated fats, saturated fatty acids will get incorporated into your cell membranes. 3️⃣The higher the degree of unsaturation among the fatty acids within a membrane, the greater the fluidity of that membrane. 4️⃣The membrane’s fluidity is an important determinant of the hormone-receptor binding sites. 5️⃣More fluidity means better sensitivity to hormones. 6️⃣In conclusion, more unsaturated fats means better sensitivity to hormones. e.g. insulin resistance is associated with rigid cell membranes. Plant fats are mostly unsaturated while animal fats are mostly saturated. #nbsaturatedfat #nbfat #nbhealthyfats • • • #healthylifestyle #cleaneating #nutrition #nutritionist #nutritioncoach #healthtips #healthyfood #vegan #rawfood #diet #dieting #blogger #wellness #weightloss #dietitiansofinstagram #nutritionblog #healthyblog #healthblog #healthyblogger

What is CARNITINE Omg people are crazed about this supplement; rumour has it that it burns fat. Carnitine, as a molecule that is found in most body tissues, is needed for the transport of long chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for oxidation (burning). Without carnitine, the long chain fatty acids cannot get into the mitochondria, thus they cannot be burned. So yes, without carnitine, we ain’t burnin fat. Luckily though, our kidneys and liver are at ease producing this important molecule, and deficiencies are very rare. When you take carnitine supplements, both the kidneys and the liver will reduce the synthesis, thus you’ll end up having more or less the same levels of carnitine… At least the most updated RELIABLE study shows this. So in conclusion: If you have a specific genetic or medical condition that results in carnitine deficiency, which is again, very rare, it is reasonable for you to take carnitine supplements. If not, no. #nbcarnitine #nbfat #nbfatburn #nbsupplements • • • • #healthylifestyle #cleaneating #nutrition #nutritionist #nutritioncoach #healthtips #healthyfood #vegan #rawfood #diet #dieting #blogger #wellness #weightloss #dietitiansofinstagram #nutritionblog #healthyblog #healthblog #healthyblogger

Why does decreasing the portion size has such a disappointing result in the long term for weight loss? It’s not odd to see a weight loss health expert(?) advising smaller portions, for example half as portion of french fries instead of a whole portion. However, this advice misses one fact, which is french fries is always french fries, and it will always cause high insulin peaks regardless of the portion. High insulin peaks program our body to STORE FAT. Nothing else (in the context of weight loss)! In the effect of too much insulin, our body will metabolize everything into fat and send it to be stored inside the fat cells. The result is that we’ll send everything inside the fat cells to be stored, and become hungry again very soon after eating that small portion since we end up with very little energy left to keep our body running. Ultimately, we’ve stored fat with that small portion of french fries (or pasta, or a dessert, or any simple carb), yet at the same time we’re feeling exhausted. #nbweightloss #nbcarbs #nbsimplecarbs #nbinsulin #nbfat • • • • #healthylifestyle #cleaneating #nutrition #nutritionist #nutritioncoach #healthtips #healthyfood #vegan #rawfood #diet #dieting #blogger #wellness #weightloss #goodmerning #dietitiansofinstagram #nutritionblog #healthyblog #healthblog #healthyblogger

Common sense would tell you that fats clog the blood vessels, and therefore, you would be wise to reduce your fat intake☝. But what if the high levels of fats in your blood did not come from eating too much fat but from something else - carbohydrates, for example We eat extra large amounts of carbohydrates daily: a large bowl of sugary cereal or a toast with jam for breakfast, a white bread sandwich, pizza or a hamburger for lunch, rice, pasta, potatoes in the dinner, and like all of this is not enough, we eat desserts. Our body’s carbohydrate storage is limited, and all of this excess carbohydrates - sugars - need to be converted to into fats by our poor liver so that they can be stored. Guess what: This fat is nooooo different from the fat that accumulates the arteries! What this ultimately means is that we need to get rid of 2 things to have fresh and elastic blood vessels: 1️⃣unhealthy fats (obviously) - long saturated fats, trans fats, and excess Omega-6 fats, and 2️⃣SIMPLE CARBS! (the hidden reason!) Believe it or not, simple carbs is said to contribute even more to the stiffening of arteries than fats. As David Ludwig from Harvard University puts it, “The next time you eat buttered toast, think of the butter as actually the more healthful component♨️” #nbarteryhealth #nbcarbs #nbfat #nbcholesterol • • • • #healthylifestyle #cleaneating #nutrition #nutritionist #nutritioncoach #healthtips #healthyfood #vegan #rawfood #diet #dieting #blogger #wellness #weightloss #dietitiansofinstagram #nutritionblog #healthyblog #healthblog #healthyblogger #wholefood #realfood

“Unexplained fat”. Nowadays it comes to no surprise to see someone who looks in shape overall, yet is experiencing fatty liver or “beer gut”. This is due to one thing: Visceral Fat, which refers to the fat around the abdominal organs. Visceral fat, fatty liver, unexplained fat gain around the abdomen are all connected, and they are simply the three of the many ways the body deals with unwanted calories☝. Body is defaulted to store the unwanted calories, which may have consumed via alcohol, processed foods, trans fats…, in visceral fats, knowing that those calories cause more harm than good if burned for energy☠️. By that I mean the “waste” of these calories after burning will cause very high levels of free radicals, thus body is precautious about risking the release of these free radicals in exchange with energy☠️. Guess what happens when your body decides to ‘not burn’? Visceral fat development and low energy levels. So: good calories—> efficient burning—> boosted energy #nbenergy #nbfatigue #nbvisceralfat #nbbeergut #nbfat #nbfattissue #nbalcohol #nbbeer
