Update: NECKER ISLAND !!! ☀️ This week I received an email from Virgin Unlimited with updates on Necker Island and couldn't be more excited to share with everyone!! First of all to mention, since its my favorite part, there are 50 lemurs back on Necker! YAY! How exciting is that?! Here are the updates: Necker will be re-reopening in Oct 2018. The total number of guests that can easily be accommodated on the island is 22, plus 6 children in the bunkroom. In addition up to 16 more guests can be accommodated on Moskito Island, which is a 5 minute boat ride away (I have seen @richardbranson kiteboard from Necker to Moskito so maybe give that a try lol)! More rooms will be added throughout 2019. Pricing: Celebration Week: Oct 20-Nov 3rd During these weeks Necker is the most affordable. You can book an individual room and share the experience with the like minded for $31,6785 per room per week. Low Season: Nov 3-Dec 21st / Full Island Rental Rates will be $57,500 per night for up to 22 guests. For larger parties on neighboring Moskito Island, villas are up to $18K per villa per night. High Season: Dec. 21-Feb 15th / Full Island Rental Rates will be from $72,500 per night up to 28 adults. An additional 16 guests can stay on Moskito Island in villas for $18K per villa per night. Im not sure about the day trips to Necker for their wildlife tour, but I have an email into Virgin Limited Edition asking for an update. Having dinner under the stars with Sir Richard Branson, visionary and founder of the Virgin Group, just after he returned from successfully launching Virgin Galactic’s space mission. We talked about many things, but I was particularly fascinated to hear about how his relationships with world leaders such as Nelson Mandela, Graça Machel and Kofi Annan came to fruition. He told me about his connection with The Elders, the international non-governmental organisation of public figures noted as elder statesmen, peace activists, and human rights advocates, who were brought together by Nelson Mandela, and their experiences together. Hearing the tales from him first hand was very special and we both agreed that it is conversations that initiate and create change. We each have the responsibility and power to initiate said change locally and on a global scale.
