I love words, the way they sound, the way feel as they roll off the tongue, how they play with the resonance of the heart... I have devoted my life to the bold attempt at conveying Love through sound, imagery, and meaning. Of course, this is an impossible task; Love is Silent, Formless, and beyond the mind. But what a MUSE! Like swimming after a leaf in a still pond, as I strengthen my poetic wings, Love soars ever upward, always teasing just beyond the net of metaphor's reach, but close enough for me to swing blindly through the clouds with tear-soaked eyes. Couldn't I just barely caress the silk bottoms of Love's lotus feet? But during this past week at the Hanuman Temple in the high desert of New Mexico, Love set aflame the net, the wings, and even the clouds. As I fall humbly to the Earth I am blinded by the radiance of the Sun, left spellbound with nothing to say but the oldest of cliches- there are no words.
