This post isn’t seeking your attention or sympathy for me. This post is seeking your attention and sympathy for the #NHS 100 days ago.. My gorgeous little niece.. - Callie Lennon Miller - .. was born into this world to begin her battle of life. After just 26 weeks in the comfort of my incredible Sister In Laws womb, she brightened up our lives as she was born. Born 14 weeks early, she weighed a tiny 608g (1lb 5 oz). She spent 100 days in NICU under the care of the incomparable staff of the #NHS - at both #RoyalBoltonHospital & #StMarysHospital in Manchester. Thanks to the team of heroes at both hospitals, she can now breathe and feed on her own and is free of incubators and tubes. Weighing a whopping ‘6lb 6oz’ she is FINALLY coming home into the loving care of two beautiful human beings, in my Brother @manclydrawnboy & his courageous wife Jessica Miller, who are both already model parents. If you had just half the inspiration, bravery and determination that these three have, you can overcome the impossible. They did. And I couldn’t be prouder.. “Welcome to The Big Wide World, Princess. I will do everything I can for you and more, I promise” ❤️ #NHS70

Spent my Valentine’s Day in the acute medical unit with some of the loveliest patients ♥️ However, I also witnessed some awful abuse thrown at some of my colleagues, including extremely derogatory and racial comments. It’s so saddening and so infuriating to see such a lack of basic human respect - particularly to those who have dedicated their life to helping others. One of the best things about the NHS is how inclusive and diverse it is. Regardless of who you are, we accept you through the doors of our hospitals. Each and every person, working within the healthcare system does so because they care. I ask you to walk in the shoes of a member of staff in the NHS and tell me that they have an easy job - they don’t. I get the system isn’t perfect, I get that it over runs and that waiting lists are long, but we are so lucky in the UK to have a national healthcare system - and the 1.8M people who work within it are the glue that keeps it together. There are so many great people from doctors and nurses, to physios and OT’s, to pharmacists and phlebotomists, to receptionists and porters - the list is endless. Please respect it, please respect us ♥️ I would love for you to share some positive experiences you have had in the NHS or your in your own system? A nurse who has gone that extra mile? A doctor who reassured you during a scary experience? A physio who motivated you to get back on your feet? #TheFoodMedic #NHS #NHS70

Two years anniversary since my crash. This was the first time I was fitted with a prosthetic and able to take a couple of steps. I mainly wanted to do a post to celebrate the NHS with 70 years of unbelievable work they have all done, without the air ambulance team 2 years ago I don’t think I would be here posting this. Also I want to thank everyone on the day of my crash who helped me or came to show support, I’m truly thankful for all the love! (Thanks to my pops for the crazy angle snap) #nhs70 #nhs #airambulance

The NHS is incredible. We were looked after by SO many different members of staff and provided with everything we needed, all for free. FREE. NADA. NOWT. NOT A BLINKIN' PENNY. One of the nurses even managed to nick me a total of 6 meals off the catering trolley during our stay. They are selfless, lovely and total grafters. Thank you. You made it possible to walk out of that hospital with me totes beautiful wife, whilst proudly carrying Scout and Kip past all the cooing parents-to-be

Happy birthday NHS! I am SO proud to live in a country where financial means doesn’t determine whether you live or die. I am so grateful to the NHS for being there through my happiest times, my scariest times, my hardest decisions, my biggest regrets. Thank you for helping me safely grow my family, thank you for ensuring my mum gets to be here for us, thank you for putting Matt back together the 780,000 times he’s broken himself, thank you for being the main reason my best friend came back from the States (if ever you need reminding why the NHS is so awesome, speak to anybody who has lived in America), thank you for keeping friends alive and for holding those not so lucky in their final moments. The NHS has its flaws, but these don’t mean it is a bad system. These are due to under-funding and misuse. Our NHS needs protecting, so our children too will know no matter what happens their bank balance will never equal a death sentence. (SO BLOODY WELL VOTE WITH THE NHS IN MIND NEXT TIME YOU WALLYS!) Here’s to another 70 years! #NHS70

I have Crohn's disease and Endometriosis. I take around 15 tablets a day as well as 8 weekly biological injections. I can spend (what feels like) half my life in the bathroom, I can't remember a day without any pain and managing treatments, side effects from drugs and life in general is hard work to say the least! . . However, I still work 40 hours per week in a business school, 130 miles away from home and I am still and have been studying since I was 18. . . If you were to see me how I looked today or at work (image on the right) you'd never know what was actually going on inside my body. . . Therefore, please always remember some illnesses and disabilities are in fact invisible. In fact, no one ever really knows what's going on behind closed doors... So please always be compassionate and kind to everyone you meet . . Follow Chronically Successful for more like this ‼️

In between running TFG, looking after @alliethepest & renovating my house I also squeeze in a full time job to pay for the pests unnecessary growing clothes collection . The National Health Service turns 70 years old today and I can say I’m one of the lucky people to work for an amazing public service, even when the pest does laugh at my photo ID #NHS #nhs70 #happybirthdaynhs
