note: 3(mittsu) 6(muttsu)
There are 2 number systems in #Japanese: the Chinese and the native Japanese. Pronounce 1-10 in Japanese. #read⬆️ sorry for the number 6 it should be muttsu. Note that the native Japanese system refer to the number of some objects, except for yon and nana. In business and administrative the Chinese system is commonly used except for shi(4) is replaced by yon (example: yon kai (4th floor) because shi also means 'death' in Japanese and shichi(7) is also replaced by nana (example: nana ji (7:00) as shichi ji) because shichi ji (7:00) and ichi ji (1:00) sound similar and confusing.

Finger names in Japanese!⠀
*Finger - 指 (yubi)⠀
⠀
• Thumb - 親指 (oya yubi) "oya" means parent so you can think of it as "parent finger"⠀
⠀
• Index finger - 人差し指 (hitosashi yubi) "hitosashi" means to point at a person so think of it as "pointer finger" (which by the way is rude to do in Japan)⠀
⠀
• Middle finger - 中指 (naka yubi) "naka" means middle so it's the "middle finger"⠀
⠀
• Ring finger - 薬指 (kusuri yubi) "kusuri" means medicine so "medicine finger". There are a couple theories behind why it's called this. One theory is that it is the least used finger, therefore, the cleanest so you should use it to apply medicine.⠀
⠀
• Pinky - 小指 (ko yubi) "ko" = small so it's the "small finger"⠀
⠀
Which one do you think is easiest to remember? ⠀

この … ( kono ) & その … ( sono ) & あの … ( ano ) : this… & that… & that …
① この (kono) + noun
If there is a book near you and you want to say "this book is good", you would say "この ほん は いいです(kono hon wa ii desu)", not "これ ほん は...(kore hon wa...) . "この" is kind of an adjective, which means "this..." and is always followed by noun. "この" alone doesn't make any sense. ・
・
この ( kono ) : this + ( something near speaker )/ this + ( something speaker has )
e.g.
このほん kono hon : this book
このはな kono hana : this flower
② その (sono ) + noun
If someone has a flower and you want to say "that flower is beautiful", you would say "そのはな は きれいです" . You can't say "それ はな は...". ・
・
その ( sono ) : that + ( something near listener ) /that + ( something listener has )
e.g.
そのほん sono hon : that book
そのはな kono hana : that flower
③ あの (ano) + noun
If you find cherry blossom over there and want to tell someone "That flower is cherry blossom", you would say "あの はな は さくらです(ano hana wa sakura desu)". ・
・
あの ( ano ) : that +( something away from speaker & listener )
e.g.
あのき ano ki :that tree over there
あのおみせ ano omise :that shop over there
④ どの (dono) + noun
If you want to ask like "which book?", you would say "どのほん ですか (dono hon desuka)" ・
・
どの ( dono )
: which (+ something) ? (question)
e.g.
どの ほん ですか dono hon desuka
: Which book?
どの き ですか dono ki desuka
: Which tree? ・
