Post-Workout Nutrition is important for a number of reasons.

1- Improved recovery
Post-workout is when your body is most susceptible to digesting those important nutrients, as we mentioned in our macronutrients post. Protein is the key to repairing those damaged muscles, so a high protein option is recommended! -
2- Reduced fatigue
Consumption of carbs post workout replenishes your energy stores, rejuvenates your body and helps you avoid lethargy after training. -
3- Increased blood flow
That ‘Pump’ you get from training, that’s your blood flow increasing to carry oxygen to your muscles whilst training. This continues for hours after your workout, meaning that the blood carries essential nutrients to your muscles at a faster rate! —————————————————————
TIP: Avoid the intake of fats post-workout, fats take longer to digest than protein & carbs, meaning that they slow down the rate of recovery and digestion! —————————————————————
