. Ich weiß, dass der Anruf kommen wird. Und bis dahin werde ich kämpfen. Versprochen. . . #thewaitinglist #cysticfibrosis #Mukoviszidose #cyster #fighter #spoonie #potd #student #hospital #Krankenhaus #medizin #chronischkrank #cfirl #kämpferherz #versprechen #hoffnung #support #community #neversurrender #65roses #organspende #organdonation #transplant #lungtransplant #lovelife

This holds the reason why I have a working, amazing heart today ... why I’m alive today. My organ donor’s family reached out to me. I will respect their wishes, and I will not post the letter publicly. But I will say this: . My heart came from a young girl who loved life. She had a lot of pretty awesome hobbies & enjoyed school. She had many, many beautiful ambitions that she never got around to accomplishing. Everybody admired her. . We will forever be connected. . Thank you so much for saving my life, babe. From the bottom of ... our ... heart. . . #beadonor #donatelife #organdonation #organdonor #grateful #thankyou #letter #heart #hearttransplant #organtransplant #organ #transplant #giftoflife #connections #life #legacy #organdonors #donation #donor

On day 4, we are hitting you with our first set of Cystic Fibrosis facts Did you know that many people call CF an invisible illness? This is because unless a CF patient is actively hooked up to an IV med, on oxygen, wearing a mask or openly tells you about it, you really can’t tell anything different might be going on! That’s why we think Cystic Fibrosis fighters are some of the strongest and most courageous we’ve ever seen! They need to do extensive treatments and take numerous pills just to do the same activities anyone else might do in a typical day! Let us just tell you, Lea was a prime example of this! On a “healthy” day, she did up to 4 hours of treatments, sometimes 3x a day and took anywhere from around approximately 40+ pills only to go to work and endure the physical strain of being a nurse. Which we can all agree is a difficult job for anyone, not just someone with CF! Not only did Lea not look sick, she didn’t live like she was sick with! Even though she had hours of health routine added to her day she didn’t let her hold her back! The point is, regardless of whether you can SEE someone illness, everyone deserves the same care & respect! This is why it’s so important to stay inside when you are sick, cover your mouth, wash your hands, clean up after yourself and not smoke in public areas. You never know when your actions may have just caused someone’s treatment list to go from 4 hrs to 7 or 40 pills to 70. Be mindful of those around you! 9 times out of 10 that mask is to protect the person wearing it, not you. So let’s all do our part to spread awareness throughout May for the invisible fighters! CHALLENGE 4: Tell one friend or family member a fact about Cystic Fibrosis today or have them read this post It’s such an easy and free way to spread awareness! And if we can all do our part to reduce unhealthy impact on those around us, it might even save a life #whywaitforwings

I gave from my ❤️... Best t-shirt EVER by @shirtwoot! . I am a double-organ transplant recipient and I'm also an organ donor. I registered as an organ donor the minute I got my driver's license, not knowing I'd ever need someone else's organs to stay alive. In 2013, my kidneys began to fail. I was scared beyond measure, not knowing if I'd ever receive the kidney I would need to live. My pancreas never worked so I needed both a kidney and a pancreas. I recieved the call that would change my life forever on May 31, 2013. I went in for transplant surgery, thanks to an amazing donor! Here I am, living a life full of giving-back and awareness-creating. You never know when something like this will happen to you, and you'll never know how many you can help by becoming an organ donor. I'm living proof. . Thank you for this incredible gift, @shirtwoot! I love my tee and others loved it too as they saw me out and about with it on! . Tee by @shirtwoot Fairfax, VA Donor unknown (22 year old male in NoVA. I'm forever grateful.) . . #wootshirt #shirtwoot #organdonation #transplantrecipient #kidneytransplant #pancreastransplant #givelife #givelove #sundayvibes #sundayfunday #lovethistshirt #besttshirtever #donatelife #kidneyfailure #organdonor #weekendvibes #springstyle #summerstyle #favoritetshirt

Organ donation awareness month! Pills, pills, pills Living with transplant you basically just have to take pills to survive. No more nebulizer breathing treatments several times a day, chest PT with the vest or iv antibiotics all the time, but I do still take a lot of pills. Not exactly the same ones. The pills I take now include anti-rejection meds. These help keep my body from recognizing the foreign organs, and prevent them from rejecting them. Right when I got my transplant my pill regime was different from what it is now. I don’t have to take them 3-4 times a day, just down to two times a day. Right now I’m on tacrolimus which is an anti rejection med, prednisone, blood pressure med because I have high blood pressure from the other pills, I take two different pills for nerve pain since I now have neuropathy more than before, pantoprazole for acid reflux since it’s very common for people with cf and post transplant, allergy pill, and a whole bunch of other vitamins. With all this I don’t have to take them with food anymore. I did in the very beginning but now I don’t throw up from them. Thankful that this is all I have to do now! Always so grateful for my donor. . . . . *this picture is my pill box from the first few weeks after I got out of the hospital. . . #lungstoryshort #cysticfibrosis #cysticfibrosisawareness #cf #fucf #doublelungtransplant #transplantirl #newlungs #transplant #organdonation #donatelife #recycleyourself #pills #pillbox #organdonationawarenessmonth
