You just can't miss it, can you? It is an edifice from any point of view. I think I can safely say The church at CMS is the most photographed icon in Lagos or is it ikoyi link bridge? Naah, naah this church! My opinion though o! Well, whichever is . You just can't help yourself when around it's beauty. You would want to capture as many angles as possible. And it gets better and better each day. I feel almost every photographer in Lagos or even it's citizens has a photo of this . I can hear you shouting oga tbb and his generalizations ehn. Whilst taking this photo and since it's a Sunday, I would like to discuss or share my thoughts on one sensitive topic "RELIGION". I know it's one no no area for Nigerians as we see ourselves as highly religious persons. With over a billion worship centres be it Christianity, Islam or other beliefs, we are dedicated and totally sacred to our beliefs. However, amongst us all are the likes of me( I should choose my next words carefully as my family are online too. Lol) . When I mean me, I mean someone who understands and absolutely values the place of God in my life yet still I am not inclined towards religion. I don't feel the obligations to go to church or that experience that makes one so religious and obedient to doctrines and beliefs. I have always held the belief that organized religion isn't quite necessary rather the advocation of a personal relationship with God should be primary. I was born into a catholic family and has always been catholic all my life but truly, I haven't been over awed by been christian. Some might say I haven't experienced a Godly encounter or I am not born again but this is just me basically saying my truths. Religion hasn't really affected me. Well,someday... The Cathedral Church of Christ. Marina. Lagos

"Ojulegeba, SHITTA, Ask your sister, she no fit say she no know me" I thought this would be a proper way to title this write up you know. A tribute to a real legend of Shitta @wizkidayo . Well, I was born in the south and prior to coming here, whenever I sang "no lele by wizkid" . I always thought the Shitta aspect in the lyrics was maybe just a slang until I saw a living breathing city on it's own. Shitta is undescribable you know. To some it is a city of dreams and imaginations, to others it is the live version of the B-13movie. You never quite get the proper way to describe it but one thing Shitta is;is that IS ALIVE. I have been opportune to visit it in the day with it's quiet musings and at night with the combine chaos of humanity. It is just undiluted human experiences. The eyes of the residents seem to pierce through your soul, everyone seeking to be that inch sharper or scarier than the other yet still offering that smile and homeliness of Nigerians. It is quite mind boggling. I have been scared though to clip some inner photos(lemme fine tune my Yoruba first, before they last words I hear before going AWOL is "omo werey' ni") but at least I captured the gates to SMALL LONDON. Big London must be proud uncle @ibi.gowon.photography you need to visit the lite version of London. To my man @abiola_riliwan_awe . you walked past and made this perfect. The Forgotten. This is my greatest fear and well, falling down( I haven't fallen down in about five years. The day I fall,it will be earth shattering) okay okay, let's talk about my fear. The idea of been left behind, being lost in all the crowd and chaos of daily life that everyone moves on without me is scary. Don't get me wrong, I don't seek validation. I am just scared of not realizing my potential that I experience life not been remembered for any impact. Remembering here is relative, I don't actually require worldwide Albert Einstein level of remembrance - it's too much, I mean at least leaving an impact of even two persons that whenever they think of a positive and wide smile moment of their life. They picture you. Maybe the key to not been forgotten is always staying in the picture, doing the right things to keep been relevant. It's really easy typing it here sha. PLEASE,PLEASE YOU ALL SHOULDN'T FORGET ME, I WILL CRY This photo was taken on easter Sunday scouring the streets of masha with my fellow wakaholics @olusolaimagery @abiola_riliwan_awe @kes_ajebo @galadima_lens @abisoye. #lagos #photowaka #phonephotography #documentaryphotography #documentaryphotographer #orile #lensculture #photowakang #canoncna #streetphotographer #eyesonthestreet #everydayafrica #everydaynigeria #Myeverydaywaka #streetphotography #africangallery #igersnigeria #focalpointnigeria #discovernigeria #unabashed #lenscartel #bw #spi #spicollective #streetphotographer #streetphotography #bnw #bw #bop #confessionofalagosnewbie

Work and Passion. Lawanson. 2019 Very rare people actually achieve this balance, their passion- that purpose they were sent to fulfill on earth- becoming their life's work( a genuine and reliable source of sustenance) Too many unhappy blends and one suffers for the other. Personally, I can share my experience. I keep saying I moved to Lagos with a grand plan to chase a finance generating source of income to service my passion photography. You know get essential gear and the other boring boring aspects of how I will become a pro and document the FIFA world cup and other adventurous tales. Haha! Well, in the short time here, I have held three jobs(wait! Wait!! I can explain- bills are realistic and I am not the thanos taking away all Nigerian jobs) and I must say diverse factors have led me to forgo them(story for another day) but I think the most pressing is I wasn't actually enjoying what I was doing. I wasn't looking forward to going to work. I might sound lazy but that is the truth, I give a hundred percent on my jobs but you know that inner peace that comes with capturing a brilliant photo, I wasn't experiencing it in my daily work. I thought the salaries will bring that o but when I was been owed salary. Mbanu! I jeje walked away - see that story for another day. Forget about me though, Back to our main talk. I feel true purpose is found when this two essential part of whether we will be happy or grumbling through life are merged into one. And mind you, happiness is not necessarily a private jet, luxurious apartments , a trophy wife and all. Maybe,if that's your version. It's cool. Happiness though is finding joy, amazement, peace in your daily output no matter how little and been glad to waking up to doing it over and over again. The five star treatment is just a welcome added bonus. This photo was shot on a late evening stroll escorting my buddie @ourwilfred to board a bus from lawanson to Ajah and as a added footnote, I begin another job this may Leave me abeg!!!

Soccer...football...balling Whenever there is space and a ball, friendships and unity is borne. I remember back in school days, at the beginning of school when everyone is awkward and unrelated. A football match easily blasts through the tension. As soon as the whistle is blown, a whole new bonding experience begins, No one ever walked off a football field without connecting to another. Maybe it is the ballers of understanding code(forget, what you just read) or maybe it's cause all my guys are ballers. Haha but football speaks a welcoming and loving language. From grassy plains to stony grounds and to the beaming screens of viewing centres. The love is evident, in the sliding tackles, in the laugh when "kolo" dribbles occur, in the roar that meets a goal and in the hugs and high fives when our favourite team scores. For ninety minutes, we experience true love.

Rebellion Ojuelegba.2019 Maybe they got the adulation their works deserved or maybe not, But the guys that put up the works of art under the bridges in Lagos are my heroes. Every piece of it unique in it's own right, brilliantly put together and eye catching. I want to, I really want to photograph all of them but whenever I venture under the bridges, the whole lannister army of agberos be circling round trying to lynch me. I spend the moments trying to "drop something for the boys" and when I am done. The scene just never seems the same again. Well, I still remain the watcher on the sidewalks, the boi in khaki so hear me ye walls sorry bridges of Lagos, TBB is Coming!
