GHOSTS OF @westernaustralia's PAST The early 20th century brought with it the Gold Rush era throughout the Goldfields region in Australia. As the booms came and went, many people left the small mining towns, sometimes taking the population from hundreds to 0 overnight! These living museums, like Gwalia, provide tourists from all over the world with an insight into what life during the Gold Fever was all about! Check out today's Facebook post to have a read
Our favourite outback horse, Willie Everyone in the Goldfields region of @WesternAustralia knows the story of Willie the Horse. He's a town local, and the most popular resident of Kookynie. He loves dropping by the Grand Hotel and popping his head through to door to greet the pub goers. It's hard not to notice this beautiful animal when visiting the town of Kookynie, with less than 15 permanent residents, and buildings showing the gold rush history of the region. @asyrafleephotography Kookynie, just over 2 hours North of Kalgoorlie, @Australia
Have YOU been to the most Aussie town of all time? The quirky town of Kalgoorlie Boulder in the Goldfields of @westernaustralia is full of rich history, amazing architecture, eccentric pubs and even more eccentric outback characters! It's also home to the famous Super Pit Gold Mine and Two Up Shed, the only legalised shed in @australia! Does it get more Aussie than that? See for yourself along the Golden Quest Discovery Trail, taking you on a tour of Kalgoorlie and surrounds. Link in our bio ✨
One of the most historic and iconic outback pubs here in the Golden Outback is the Ora Banda Historical Inn. With a population of only 20 residents, Ora Banda in the Goldfields region of @westernaustralia is almost a ghost town. The pub was derelict between the 1940s to 1980s, but is now a haven for locals and tourists alike! The locals here love to have a yarn about the old days, so be sure to have a chat over a beer or two if you're ever in town! @baz131888
A horse at the pub? Who would of thunk it! One of the special attractions of Kookynie in the Goldfields region of @westernaustralia is possibly one of the coolest pubs you'll ever visit, the Grand Hotel Kookynie. For an authentic outback pub experience, be sure to visit for a bite to eat and a drink, and don't forget to say g'day to Willie the four-legged friend out the front, who stops past the pub each night and waits for his dinner! He was saved and now roams around the town, as one of the 13 residents that call Kookynie home. @coopsfrootloops
