Let’s talk postpartum This was my deflated balloon belly 2 days PP It was so squishy I was not prepared for the weird feeling of not having a baby in my belly after birth & it got me thinking of some other TMI things that I wasn’t prepared for ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sleep- I didn’t sleep for 2 days, not because I was up with Logan but because my body was sooo high on adrenaline that I just didn’t sleep don’t worry it caught up on me! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pooping- OH MY GOD! The after birth poop, be prepared, it is like birthing another child! All I can say, if they offer you ‘softeners’ TAKE THEM ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Contractions- I was not aware that the contractions wouldn’t stop for a couple of days! Now, don’t get me wrong they weren’t as bad as labour but it was still not a fun time Your uterus will be off doing its thing, contracting to shrink itself back down to a normal size! Butt Pain- My whole butt felt like I had done about 12 thousand squats I think because I was pushing down on my butt with all my body weight to get him out! I walked like a carrot was stuck up my ass for days ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Boobs- okay look, I went from a B cup to a C cup... then my milk came in JEEEEEZ! I think I jumped to a double D overnight And they were hard and painful and soooo engorged for 2 days until my body got in sync with Logan ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Blood- We all know you bleed after child birth.. dahhh but I wasn’t expecting not to be able to wipe like normal until my stitches were out and you just feel dirty like all the time I literally bought a sauce bottle from Kmart and look that’s probably my postpartum must have if you know what I’m saying!

So this is how I told my besties I was pregnant loooong before I announced to the world Im so lucky to have amazing supportive besties around me but some babes aren’t so lucky! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨NEW BLOG POST ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This post is all about being a young mama & the amount of stigma that faces just the thought of having a baby at a young age. I never realised how many people were judgmental of young mothers until I announced my pregnancy! The automatic assumption is ‘Accidental’, or that I was ‘shocked or upset’ about the pregnancy... I can tell you my pregnancy was neither of these things. I am lucky to be surrounded by supportive family and friends who all want the best for me and my baby, but some mothers are not as lucky I’m not asking you to raise my child, nor am I having my baby for ‘the benefits’, no I’m not giving up my life because i’m having a baby, my life is just starting! Learning to be a mum is difficult for anyone! It’s time to support young mothers because being 22 and pregnant is no different to being 34 and pregnant ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The link is in our bio @herperth_
