Ireland, how I missed you...:-) For a first part of this year I travelled a lot, visiting Gran Canaria, Faroe Island and Scotland. I barely had time to go to see my usual playground and except Copper Coast in February and couple of visits to Donegal, I didn't have too many oportunities to go out. Last Saturday I decided to visit Antrim Coast. I drove up to Giant's Causeway car park and I walked the cliff to place called Hamilton's Seat. After lovely 40 min walk I was there. What a view....weather was mixed and sky dramatic. All looked very promising. I climbed down to steps and then walked around the cliff, East until I saw big part of it collapsed and now way through. I had to walk back and find other spot. It's not easy to photograph there as cliff is very slippery, especially after rain. I found small ridge and sat in it, enjoying the view. Sunset itself didn't happened as massive clouds rolled, covering horizon. I took this shot approximately 1h before sunset time. I spent whole day in Northern Ireland last Thursday, visiting forests and parks and looking for some nice Autumn sceneries. My first stop was Dark Hedges in Antrim. I had to leave home at 4:15 am to get there for sunrise, which was a killer but so worth it. I was extremely lucky that there was only 3 people there and they weren't photographers so I wasn't disturbed much. With sunrise happening at 8 am at this time of the year, my biggest concern was that place will be packed with tourists. I was very happy that people enjoyed their longer sleep that day and I had this place only for myslef for most of the time. Sunrise was beautiful, but I had to wait about 30 more minutes before sun light reach the Hedges. I got everything what I was hoping for. The leaves were in all possible colors and loads of them on the trees and around the road also. There was a bit of mist too. I decided to go for vertical shot this time as I wanted to include as much branches and leaves as possible. After disappointing, full of rain morning I decided to return to the same location for set. I was just following the cliff above Ballydowane Beach until I reached point where I could see seastacks. I was hoping for a bit if backlight from setting sun but I went 1.5h earlier just in case set won't happen. I don't even remember how many times I got hit by showers while waiting there. When I aerived I even saw rainbow over seastacks which was literally 10 meters from where I was standing. I could even see pot of gold behind seastack but it was raininf so badly I couldn't take any phitos. Around 20 min before set sun showed up in ymthe little gap between heavy clouds and horizon which gave a bit of light on the cloud in front of me and seastacks. I was hoping for better result but considering conditions I had to shoot in I have to be happy with what I got.
