Its kind of our thing to recycle plastic. However only recycling isn’t going to fix this massive plastic problem, we also need to find alternatives for this material. Materials that won’t cause the same problem in the future. Here we are making a bowl from wheat and potato peels. Only natural ingredients, processed in a way that you can still eat it. In the past we’ve melted HDPE in old soup tins or coffee cans. The problem with this is that they end up being single-use as you have to destroy them to get the casting out. For this project we welded a simple two-part mould that we’d be able to use over and over again.
