Sometimes divorce is necessary.  Don't stay in a marriage if it is unhealthy or out of fear of being embarrassed of getting a divorce.  No one else is living your life and you only have one life to live and you deserve to be happy....don't settle.  It may hurt in the short-term but in the long run you will be better for it.

If there is one piece of dating advice that really definitely works it's to get busy. There's a book called 'Why Men Love Bitches' - it's very outdated and I don't agree with most of it because it encourages you to pretend to be something you're not, but it does have some good principles. It tells you not to be freely available everytime they contact you - to wait a couple of hours before returning their call & it recommends pretending to be busy when they ask you out. And this stuff does all work, it's attractive to have a full and busy life and it gives an element of chase and challenge to the early dating stages. But it's not really effective if you're just pretending to be busy. Don't take 2 hrs to reply because you are playing games, take 2 hours to reply because you were at a Judo lesson. Don't pretend to be busy on Saturday - actually be busy, take yourself to an exhibition, meet friends, join a local Salsa class. Do something, anything, other than laying on your sofa scrolling through dating apps with Love Island on in the background every night of your life. If you don't have much going on then it means that as soon as someone exciting enters your life then your whole focus goes on them, they become your main source of entertainment and it becomes hard not to be freely available to them. This can lead to that person taking advantage of your time, like the meme says, if they know you've got nothing going on except for them then if they are a prick they will feel no way about wasting your time. Your time is not valuable to them because you're not doing anything anyway. Being genuinely busy means that you make better choices about who you are willing to give your precious time to, being idle leaves you more likely to settle because you just want company. I know it's hard when you are restricted by kids, money etc, but there is plenty to do even without leaving the house. Learn a language online, get deep into some audiobooks, read, make something. Get busy with something you enjoy so that trying not to be single doesn't become your biggest hobby. There's more to life than dating.
