Probably one of my longest commissions to finish! This wig is based off of Lucrezia Borgia from the tv series The Borgias. I would absolutely love to do more Renaissance wigs in the future!!! This was such a fun challenge and now I want to do more!

YEAH! My dress is ready! I am very happy with the result. After last post, when I finished the ruff, I first made the cuffs. These are matching with the ruff. They are loose items but I pinned them to the sleeves. After this the skirt. It's 4 meters wide and gathered into tight cartridge pleats and then sewn on the edge of the bodice. The border is finished with a gold/pearl wide tape. Then I made the girdle, with the same ouches as on the bodice. The girdle is a loose piece, but I tacked it to the bodice at a few places. The Helena Snakenborg dress needs to be ready in about two weeks, so I've spent many hours on it lately. So the bodice is almost ready, I made hand embroidered eyelets at the side lacing closure. The gold lace embroidered tape is stitched on the bodice, hooks are added at center front. I added a black/yellow twisted cord all around the front and neckline. Shoulder straps are made up and attached to the bodice. The embroidered partlet is gathered and attached to the boned, embroidered collar. Gold ric rac tape is sewn around the edges and on the collar seam. The collar is then lined. The partlet is stitched under the bodice.
