Happy Birthday, Richard Denning! From 1948 - 1951, Lucille Ball and Richard Denning starred in the radio show “My Favorite Husband” as “Liz and George Cooper, two people who live together - and like it!” The show was a big success and eventually led to the development of “I Love Lucy,” but without Denning, of course.❤️ • • #ilovelucy #myfavoritehusband #lucilleball #richarddenning #classic #classicradio #classicradioshow #1940s #40s #1950s #50s #lizandgeorge #thecoopers

Happy Heavenly Birthday to actor Richard Denning (1914-1998) . Born in New York, Denning’s parents moved the family to California when he was just a toddler. After earning his business degree, Denning developed an interest in acting and decided to pursue it professionally instead. His first screen appearance came in 1937, though the early years of his career were spent in mostly bit or uncredited roles. After serving in the Navy during WWII, Denning returned to Hollywood but found parts difficult to come by. Thankfully, his luck changed when he was hired to play opposite Lucille Ball (1911-1989) in the hit radio comedy “My Favorite Husband”, which ran from 1948-1951. Denning also continued his film career with roles in titles such as “Creature from the Black Lagoon” (1954) and “An Affair to Remember” (1957). Additionally, he starred in the television series “Mr. & Mrs. North” (reprising another of his radio roles) from 1952-1954 and “Karen” from 1964-1965, and made guest appearances on a variety of other programs. After retiring to Maui, he took on a recurring role in “Hawaii Five-O” from 1968 until fully retiring in 1980. Denning was married to actress Evelyn Ankers (1918-1985) from 1942 until her death from cancer 43 years later . The couple had one daughter. He later remarried, which lasted until his own death from a heart attack in 1998 at the age of 84 . #richarddenning #happybirthday #heavenlybirthday #happyheavenlybirthday #oldhollywood #classichollywood #vintagehollywood #classicactor #vintageactor #oldhollywoodactor

“I think the best thing about the picture is that we do feel for the creature. We feel for him and his predicament and where he is and so on. I think that’s a very positive thing really. I like that we feel sympathy for the creature.” RIP Julie Adams
