For a long time I've considered the different messages I scroll through in a day. They all come from a well-intentioned place because I'm careful who I follow.

But I think something we need to consider when we read or listen to others' messages is who the message is intended for. ---
Person 1: "Run your easy runs slower!"
Person 2: "I only got fast once I started running faster."
---
Person 1: "Let's make healthier food choices and focus on fueling our bodies."
Person 2: "Eat the donut and stop guilting yourself about it."
---
Person 1: "Until I got serious about making X a priority, I didn't make the progress I had been wishing for."
Person 2: "Be stubborn about your goals but flexible about your methods."

All of the above are true and helpful statements. But not every statement applies to every person. ---
So if someone's good advice has left you feeling less-than or confused, check to see if that message was intended for you. ---
And if you are on IG sharing good advice, be clear about who you want taking your advice to heart. .

My workout this morning from @trainwithvi was exactly what I needed as my last mini speed session before the @bostonmarathon ♀️ it’s called “The Beast” so you can only guess it wasn’t easy basically a bunch of sets of speed ladders with short recovery breaks at easy pace I made sure to not go all-out on the intervals, though, since I’m in taper mode this week now I definitively need to spend some time resting and foam rolling!
