Here we are out doing flight training in brand new 2019 Kodiak Quest airplane to a very happy and proud owner. He took acceptance of the airplane on Thursday and flew all day yesterday and today. We flew to Port Angeles for practice approaches and landings then flew to Sekiu airport for short field landing. A week from today, one chapter will slowly begin to close as another opens. My time here in Washington has come to an end. Four and a half years of my life spent in a place I didn’t always want to be. There were some good times, and there were certainly a lot of bad. I have grown substantially in those years. It would be safe to say I was a little naive before uprooting my life for someone who would later rip apart and destroy everything that made me who I was. I never thought I would recover from that. I almost didn’t. However, the power of friendship truly saved my life. Those friends have carried me through the last couple of years, and supported me every step of the way. They gave me the strength and courage to make new friends and attempt yet another chapter here in Leavenworth. What I learned was that I need to stop trying to please other people, I need to stop trying to anticipate what will make someone else happy, because in the end, it was another failure. Within all of my seemingly endless failings, however, I have learned a lot; life lessons, people lessons, self lessons. So, on to the next, as they say. The next phase, the next growth, the next lesson. When people ask, “where will you go next?” I always say, “wherever the wind takes me.” Cause really, does anything I do surprise anyone anymore?
