Since I’m not at home to sell my own stuff I’m happy to help my sister sell her’s! Will be visiting North Carolina until Tuesday morning. Then it’s back home to work on my new craft projects and put a bunch of my own stuff up for sale. #debtfreecommunity #budgetlife #frugalliving #debtfree #debtfreejourney #sellitall
Last week I got the sudden urge to start purging and cleaning out all different areas of my house. This week I want to sell it all. If you’ve been following my last posts and stories my son, with the help of my husband and I, have been sorting through his hundreds of Lego sets in anticipation of putting a bunch on eBay. This will be a long process but I’ve actually cleared out a huge section of our spare bedroom to store it all while we are working on that project. To make room for all the Legos in the spare bedroom I decided to move out my excellent condition futon that has only been slept on twice and probably sat on a handful of times. I bought it so guests could stay over but then I realized I don’t really want guest staying over. ♀️ So I hauled that to the basement and as soon as my husband reattaches one of the legs that is slightly wobbly I will be throwing that up on craigslist. The jewelry you see in the above picture I received as a present When i was a bridesmaid at 12 years old. It is name brand costume jewelry and now it’s considered vintage. I slapped that puppy up on eBay and instantly got a few bids for over $50. Plus I have a huge pile of stuff that I need to sort through and decide to sell donate or toss from all my cleaning over the last week. I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this before but my husband flips bikes. He’s a huge bike enthusiast and anytime he can get a free or cheap bike he’ll work on it, get it in really good running condition and then resells it. Half the time he just pulls bikes out of peoples garbage! It is amazing to me that people will throw away bikes that are worth well over $100. ♀️ So if you need me I will be selling everything but my men! #sellitall #debtfreecommunity #dfc #debtfreejourney #clutterbegone #iwantasimplelife #fugal #frugality #budgetlife
My husband gave me some old bike pedals he has had for years. Turns out they are extremely rare and vintage. Our eBay auction doesn’t end till tonight and the pedals are already at $220. I am so excited and blown away!!#debtfree #debtfreejourney #debtfreecommunity #frugal #frugality #frugalliving #sellitall
Ten months ago when we were looking at the possibility of going tiny, I asked my husband a few questions. “How long do you think we’ll be in the RV?”, “Could it possibly be more than a year?” It was hard to say. We didn’t really know and that was fine with us. But I couldn’t get off my mind that if I held onto every little thing I owned, it would just be sitting in storage collecting dust, serving NO purpose whatsoever. Yes, even my “forever” dining table. Just sitting there. It made no sense to me, so a few days later I proposed that we “sell it all” and renovate our new home to feel like “home”. He has never been attached to “things”, and was a little surprised at my willingness. Maybe even a little impressed, lol. After almost twelve years of marriage, his spontaneity is rubbing off on me...
So, we sold everything we owned...washing machine, dryer, fridge, furniture, beds...all of it. What we made from it was pretty surprising! Just around 5k for all our possessions! Who knew? We used a good bit of that to renovate and get settled. The rest we saved and paid bills.
I’m glad we did this. All of it. I don’t miss those things at all! Nothing! So much less to worry about. So much less to bring into a new home one day, if God allows. I believe the more you let go of in life, the more God can use your life. It’s called surrender. It may not always be tied to possessions. It may be a dream of ours, or just something we want really bad. It can even be something used for good. But God wants us to surrender those things to him.
I’m reminded of a passage in the Bible where God is calling out for more disciples to take up the cross of following Him: “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” Matthew 10:39
Now this may sound silly, but when you start with surrendering those “little” things, you’re preparing yourself for the bigger things.

It has been an amazing run in Hopedale but our recent relocation to Wellfleet and Cape Cod has made it difficult to maintain the warehouse. Of course it is still packed with great stuff so we have contracted @bestratecleanouts to help us slim down the inventory as we don’t have the time with the success of our Wellfleet location. Chris and his team will run at least 2, 3-day sales at the warehouse the first being December 14,15,16. Chris is the best so put it on your calendars!
Thanks to all who have stopped by!!
