Cuidado!!!
Retirada de berne sem o mínimo cuidado de higiene: isso pode causar uma infecção e deve ser feito por um profissional capacitado com toda assepsia e equipamentos adequados.

I have never put the sensitive content warning up myself but I thought this post warranted it, because frankly even I was affected by some of the material. This was a terrible case of neglect that we got involved in recently. This poor dog was in labor for 3 days. It is my understanding that the dog had 5 live pups at home and then one got stuck. Although the owner did take her to a vet for help, the remaining pups that mama pushed out (with medical assistance) were dead. With the living pups in her procession and the mama dog now needing emergency surgery to get the remaining dead fetus out, the owner requested mama be put to sleep. In her eyes, this dog was simply a vessel to create puppies for financial gain, once that was no longer an option, the dog was no use to her. And it is not like she was well cared for up to that point, as you can see, she was very underweight, her coat and skin unhealthy, stool sample revealed roundworms and hookworms, and she was heartworm positive. At this point in the game her white count was in the toilet and she was weak and lethargic from the sepsis. Luckily several angels stepped in to help and she was brought to us for emergency surgery which we did at 9pm that night. You can see by the state of her uterus why she was feeling so bad. But by midnight, she was feeling so much better she was trying to chew her IV catheter out! The next morning she was bright and alert and wiggling her butt to see us! It is truly amazing and heartwarming to witness such a turn around. She was transferred to a breed specific rescue and will be treated and adopted by a forever family, hopefully in the very near future. Animal control is investigating the breeder. The most important thing is that mama dog is doing great. A big thank you to everyone who went above and beyond to make that happen. @mayberry4paws @tshaw12

I got my Hickman placed yesterday finally and IM HOME after almost 4 weeks!!!! I’ve never been so grateful or blessed to be back in my own bed with my family. I’m on IV antibiotics for awhile but I pray this will all be a distant memory soon. I can’t thank you all enough for the love and support on my last post. I was very nervous to be that open and honest but you all have shown me I didn’t have to be.
January 15th will forever be the day that I celebrate my life. To wake up everyday and have legs to walk, lungs to breathe and a life to live. Words will NEVER explain my gratitude to the ones who saved me; My mom being number 1. Please don’t live life complaining over the small things. Life is so much bigger and your soul deserves so much more. Be thankful you are here, living and breathing I bow my head today in a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives to Toxic Shock ❤️
Up and walking finally! Fever finally broke after being on continuous antibiotics and electrolytes, but just returned. My spinal tap showed infection, but no meningitis! No source of infection found yet either which is very frustrating. But in better news, I graduated from the ICU after 4 days!!! I was going into shock when I got to the ER which is why my blood pressures dropped so dangerously low. Finally moved to a regular floor. Will miss the amazing nurses here but I’m ready for a little more quiet. They said they will miss my bows and cheerful spirit and that meant a lot especially since I haven’t felt very cheerful. Thank you to everyone who has sent love, reached out, those who’ve come to hold my hand, and everyone who has been there for me. Today I saw someone right after they passed away, they arrived on the unit when I did. Today I’ve cried many many tears. It’s all catching up to me. Life is precious and I’m fighting so hard for it, I hope it’s enough. I have so much more I need to see, so many more people to hug, and so many more experiences still to have. Please let me have enough fight for this. #nevergiveup #betterdaysarecoming #sepsis #hospitallife

I share this photo every year on the day that William died. Very few people talk about child loss but it happens and it’s pure and utter devastation. You cannot sugarcoat it and this photo is the reality of sepsis.
I remember when I took William home after his birth my mum opened the front door to me sobbing on the doorstep, what’s wrong she asked. I said nothing mum I’m just so happy. Just over a year later I would carry the broken body of my precious little William out of the very same door for the last time. This photo is the LAST photo I have of me and William together a few short hours after traumatically and desperately failing to resuscitate him on the bedroom floor. My time at this point was limited. There would only be a certain amount of cuddles left, only one more time to dress him, and there came a time where I had to say goodbye, forever.
The pain is relentless, I ache, I hurt, the tears keep coming. Please whatever you do today. Forget the small stuff, it really does not matter. Live you life TODAY, love TODAY. Tomorrow isn’t promised. And please PLEASE tell someone about #sepsis I am completely broken
Some friends are an entirely different breed of people. People who enter your life as a result of circumstances, but remain because they become a part of your heart. A part that transcends circumstance. Kelsey is one of my people. Today I celebrate her beautiful birthday, and the unforeseen reason- that I could never be worthy of- that God brought her into my heart. #iwisheveryonehadakelsey
