Not all French curves are created equal and trust me, I’ve tried many of them! My favorite pattern making tool for tops is this specific French curve. This has been my tried & true French curve and I’ve never wanted any others. It’s my Secret to Perfect Armholes and Necklines! . . It’s such a simple thing and I find it super helpful to get those beautiful shapes as a starting point in your patterns. You may end up altering the pattern as you go through your muslin prototype phase, but this is always how I start. . . One tip I can give you is: write your name on it, add a sticker or do something to make it not completely clear, otherwise it’s so easy to loose in creative messes (I mean creative flow states ) I also loop a string through and hang it, so I can always find it in its place. .
