Loving my #shrinkage on this #texturetuesday *swipe* for a side view ✨ I usually only wear my hair down in a twistout for a day or so, then I put my hair up in a high puff until next washday ‍♀️ my routine is basically: twists for a couple of weeks—>twistout—>twistout puff—>reapeat . . . This method keeps my hair stretched and helps me to retain length...I think the shrunken puff stage is my second favorite stage in my hair routine (I really love the twisted stage)...I usually sleep with my hair in a pineapple (I think I found this method from searching YouTube lol) and I remoisturize every few days by lightly spraying with my leave in and water mix, then following up with some almond oil . . . She has NEVER EVER had a trim/cut before ... and it shows... As a stylist often I am faced with the daunting task trying to revive someone’s hair who’s never seen a salon or shears before. Looking at hair in this condition it’s hard not to want to shave the whole head off and tell sis to just start over. But that’s not my job. My job is to repair what I can. Cut what I can while also not putting my client in shock. A short cut would have been a great option but it might not have been psychologically. I felt it from her and I’m happy she was brave enough to let me cut what I did. We have a long road ahead of us but it’s not a road I haven’t already traveled.
