La Sentinelle, jour 2 : Après plus de 2000 m de D-, petit passage en forêt avant de rejoindre l’hôtel. Ce sera le moment d’échanger sur ces 2 jours de folies autour d’un apéro bien mérité !

3 months ago I tore my ACL and MCL in my right knee while coaching at Winter Park in Colorado. 2 Months ago I underwent surgery to have my ACL replaced with a 1/3 of my own patella tendon, luckily the MCL healed itself and didn’t need to be repaired. The pain post surgery was awful but eventually passed.

I’m sure that many in the #skicommunity or #outdoorindustry can relate to an injury that has kept you from doing what you love. It’s difficult having a plan for your season and it changing all at once. It has been a struggle, but hearing similar stories has made me hopeful.
❄️
It has absolutely been a mental game to stay strong and positive, a large part of what has kept me going is family and friends support. Leaning on people has been difficult for me, feeling less independent than ever. However, I’m incredibly thankful for the love and kindness I’ve experienced. THANK YOU!
❄️
The list is long for the things I’ve missed this winter. Friends, the mountain, après, my coworkers & coaching my kiddos and SKIING! AND BEING OUTSIDE! Bundled up with the sun on my face! Well I got a taste of it in Nova Scotia and it serves as a reminder that I’ll be lucky enough to return to spending most time outside and skiing next season. An injury can always be worse. For now I’ll continue physical therapy 3x a week to keep building up my strength. So stay safe out there friends and take a run for me because six days on hill was not enough
