Still haven’t fully processed GGBY yet. I’ve journaled half a dozen times, started working on post festival coordinating responsibilities, and started planning my next big project and still couldn’t find the right words for a post. ⁣ ⁣ Honestly, nothing I could say would cover just how amazing this experience was. The people I was with made me feel so free and loved that being away from them has left me longing for more. Withdrawals are real right now. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to everyone who had an impact on my experience during this trip. From tribal dancing around a fire in the night to meditating on the side of a cliff, you have all shaped the future for me through your love and creativity. ⁣ ⁣ It’s the community as a whole that makes these events so spectacular but I’d like to recognize a few in particular. ⁣ ⁣ Thanks to @dan.walsh.slacklife first and foremost for leading this event and helping me find my place in the community beside him. He has put countless hours into planning and organizing GGBY and has put the community before his own time on the lines so that we can enjoy this place together. I always hesitate before getting on a highline. I question my reasons, my goals, the rig, the conditions etc etc. I try to get in the right mindset before putting myself in a situation that demands so much honesty of myself. Sometimes I overthink it. ▪️ I also always pause before getting off. Did I push myself hard enough? Did I achieve what I wanted? Am I willing to get off and possibly not get the chance to get back on? Sometimes I get off too soon. ▪️ Thanks @unknownambition for capturing both those moments on this trip. Fun fact, my only goal was to slide out on that line, when I managed to hold a solid stand before whipping I was so excited I started crying and was overwhelmed with happiness and got off. I paused and wanted to push myself harder but my parents were there and had to leave so I chose to get off and share that moment with them instead. I don’t regret it because I was so happy to have achieved more than I’d expected. Can’t wait until next time though. #highline #slackline #slackfamily #linvillegorge #slacklife #goals #reflect
