Working from bed on lazy weekend mornings is definitely one of my favourite ways to do things. Can’t complain really ‍♀️⁣ ———————————————————————⁣ ⁣ I’ve been challenged to create an app for a standard takeaway service this weekend. ⁣ A big focus of the challenge is to include using an API for SMS services to customers. Something I’ve never even researched if I’m honest! ⁣ ⁣ The challenge sets us up for next week’s goals:⁣ ⁣ - Build a simple web app⁣ - Follow an effective de-bugging process for web applications ⁣ - Explain the basics of how the web works (e.g. request/response, HTTP, HTML, CSS)⁣ - Explain the MVC pattern⁣ ⁣ I’m pretty hyped about these goals, they’re brand new to me and I love learning new things ⁣ ⁣ ———————————————————————⁣ ⁣ Going to start tracking my goals & objectives on a weekly basis on my blog, starting from tomorrow. Made a little recording of me debugging a simple FizzBuzz in JavaScript. ⁣ ⁣ When learning a new language it’s pretty key to start with the basic concepts first and apply your current knowledge to the new one. ⁣ ⁣ Overall, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning JS this week. Easter meltdown - Whilst everybody was tucking into chocolate bunnies and basking in the sun this weekend, I was quickly spiralling down a rabbit hole and before you knew it, it was Easter Sunday evening and I was crying into a pack of takeaway chips and wondering if I was dropped on the head at birth because “clearly I’m too stupid for this”.⁣ ⁣ Finally powered through with some help from a friend (@jlgnap ) and I’m proud to present my revolutionary Rock, Paper, Scissors game (let me live). ⁣ ⁣ ‍After reading some posts recently I see that literally everyone in the industry deals with “the fear” at some point and if anyone tells you they haven’t encountered imposter syndrome, they’re either a psychopath or straight up lying. ⁣ ⁣ After some feedback that I “come across as confident in what I do”, I also realised how big the social media filters are and thought it’d be a good thing to share this weekend’s MARE. ⁣ ⁣ How do you guys deal with imposter syndrome or just that general “I can’t do this” feeling?
