We can always try again tomorrow. With a bit of rest, it will likely work out better.
Most of our stress occurs because we don’t take care of our minds and bodies. We’re constantly on the move, pushing through exhaustion and discomfort, telling ourselves “I’ll rest once I finish this.” But, inevitably, something else is added to our to-do lists.
There will always be something else, folks. If we don’t learn to prioritize rest, burnout will quickly become illness. And for folks with mental illness and chronic illness, high stress levels exacerbate these conditions.
Will it matter if you’ve crossed an item off your to-do list if you’re doing it from your sick bed?
April is #stressawarenessmonth so I’ll be posting encouragement and suggestions for stress management. I’ll also be sharing advice for college students since April is when the spring semester wraps up before final exams in May (in the United States, at least). I hope you’ll share your own experiences and advice!

It’s actually a lot harder than you’d think to plaster a smile on your face and go about your day pretending everything’s okay when you’re dealing with a whole load of internal stuff.
Stress and anxiety are sadly things that are becoming more and more common in this day and age (unfortunately, they’re especially common in large cities eg. London). For me, one of the only things that helps when I’m stressed and anxious to get me out of my head and calm me down is Yoga. I find that going to a class where all I need to do is focus on my breath and my body helps keep me in the moment and gives my mind a chance to rest and reset.
I’ll be teaching a weekly class this month that is entirely focused on trying to reduce stress. Join me on Thursdays 12:45pm @moveyourframe Victoria for Yoga for Stress.
We’ll be moving slowly, tuning into all of the sensations of the breath, body and just trying to be... I’ll be offering hugs at the end of class for anyone who needs one; come join me ✨
