Supreme JPG ‘Box Logo’ Tee

Resell: $280-375+ / £210-285+ / €250-330

I suppose you have to start this tee by defining whether it is a box logo or not. Most of the community (based off insta polls/reddit) don’t think this is a box logo but I’d disagree. There are plenty of tees in the past which feature box logos with a graphic and are still sold as box logos - think Undercover collabs like the Witch Tee or Bear Tee. It gets complicated when you consider tees with box logos that aren’t sold or remembered as box logo tees (Escher Tee) but the fact in the week leading up to this drop it’s been called a box logo and it’s a collab tee, I think it will be marketed and have the selling price of a box logo tee.

I was surprised by how many people prefer the CDG split box logos from last season to this JPG box logo. JPG is far more of a designer brand than CDG and if you want a CDG box logo, you can afford to be fussy because there are so many. JPG X Supreme has never happened before and is a very unlikely collab. I think this collab is gaining for more traction and media attention in the fashion world than we realise. That draws in a wider audience which translates to greater demand. I talk a lot about what Supreme items every season border on designer and attract clientele interested in designer clothing and they are usually just lookbook items. Now we’ve got a collab with a series designer label - this is big money. -
You can see the large range in resell price but that’s because there will be between a White Small and Black XL. Predicting what size will sell out first between M-XL is very difficult but you can definitely say white will sell out before black and will resell better than black. Even average tees do well in a SS season, a collab box logo tee should do very, very well. L and XL white I think are possible manual but to play it safe go for Black and like I’ve said being able to call whether M, L or XL will sell out last is almost impossible to do at the moment. -

Supreme City Arc Top (it’s not a tee)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Retail: $98 / £82 / €98
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Resell: $140-160 / £100-120 / €120-140
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’ve followed this page for any length of time, even a week, you’ll know my opinions on tops. Embroidered graphic and thicker cotton and the retail is twice that of a tee. It doesn’t make sense and as a result of those high retails, most tops are massive bricks, this top isn’t that different, especially if you are in the EU, but I will concede there is some profit to be made. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of people are asking about the retail and you just need to remember why this top is so expensive in the first place, it’s all about the embroidery and the cotton. The graphic takes up a lot of the top and if this was a print that wouldn’t matter, but I think the price rise is just simply down to there is a lot more embroidery then previous Supreme tops. It’s a great graphic, let’s make no mistake about it, if this was on a tee, it’s $120-140 resell straight away- very similar to the Rocks Tee from SS18, the moment this was came out in the lookbook, it was a highlight for a lot of people so that’s why it’s not surprising a lot of people are asking about this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s still more of a personal item, if you want to be confident of making money you need a size small, that’s a money size but I would not feel as confident with other sizes and colourways other than white, purple and black. In the EU, I would avoid it, you can’t get a size small and with the currency conversion, you can judge the figures above for yourself, we’re talking £15-20 profit after shipping and fees. In terms of the G&G tees, $65-70 after the drop, rising to $90 by July/August so again not huge profit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The item that is going to surprise people is obviously the Blockbuster hoodie but I’m not here to say it’s a brick, I want to feature it in the what to avoid post because I think a lot of people are falling into the trap of thinking this will be a successful natural colourway hoodie. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Natural colourway hoodies are not rare. They aren’t sleepers anymore and as such unless the graphic is popular, the fact it’s dropping in natural, won’t save the item. The Tag Logo hoodie from last week is the latest example from a growing list of natural colourway hoodies that just aren’t good enough. The Blockbuster font is not nice at all and is the classic sign of a personal hoodie and not a resell hoodie. It’s better than the Tag Logo hoodie, it’s not going to sit at $170, natural should reach $200 but that’s it. You can decide whether $200 selling on StockX makes you enough profit that it’s worth copping. It definitely won’t be worth copping in the EU, no size small and will brick after fees because of the exchange rate. In the US, natural small will make money, other sizes reach $200 at best so after fees not good. This hoodie is not going to perform as well as a lot of the community thinks.

I’m always talking about tees performing in Spring Summer seasons but when you drop 8 tees at once, some are going to fall to the bottom of the pile and brick hard. You’re only going to see a real rise in the summer if there was demand to begin with. If these tees start out just over retail tomorrow, there’s nothing to suggest they will fly up to $85-95 in the summer because while people want tees in the summer they are just going to choose other ones, just like they will after the drop tomorrow. Even in black colourway, these tees will be hard to shift and could go below retail in other colourways.
