2014 ➡️2019 The day the photo on the left was taken I remember being so incredibly inbarrased by my body that I would hide from people I knew. There were countless nights where I would literally cry myself to sleep because of the fact that there was fat on my body. I devalued myself to such a degree that I thought I was a waste of space and no one would ever want to have me as their friend because of my body ‍♀️. It got to a point where I couldn’t take it anymore. Enough was enough! I made a promise to myself that a year from now that I would be unrecognizable... I would workout at home every single daym day after school for 1 whole year, awaiting for my birthday to roll around so I could afford to purchase a gym membership at the age of 15. Fast forward to now, May 2019. ✨ Physically there is a change and I feel much more confident in my body than ever before. Stronger, more muscular, athletic, and constantly improving. However, the biggest difference between the girl on the left and the woman on the right is the mentally that they hold. What ever I want I can get, there will be pain, there will be sacrifice, joy, discipline, commitment and growth. Nevertheless, it will always be worth it! It always is! One choice. One decision. One initial intention to change my body. Resulting in a ever evolving growth mindset and confidence in who I am and what I have to bring to the table. Everyone will notice the physical change, but it is up to you to cultivate the mentality that brings that change you desire to see.

This is something I try to do in every aspect of my life. It comes down to mindset and accountability. • If life doesn’t go as you’d like it to, there’s a lot of things you can waste energy on. I’d like you to think about what you do when you experience a setback, whether it’s tiny or major. • Get pissed (not the drunk kind, although, optional), blame others or the situation, compare yourself to others who seem trouble-free, pity yourself, avoid it, relive it etc and so forth. • Here’s a little energy-saver for you. We are all responsible for our own actions and happiness. It’s quite calming really. You don’t like where you are or what you do? Change it. Is a situation impossible to change? Find your purpose! You see, I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I always knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I’m also the person who has had a job since I was thirteen and two/three jobs from senior year of high school on. I would work from 4 am, going to the next and work until 10 pm at the mall. Then I became self employed and when I got pregnant I focused on me. But what I didn’t realize is I would ultimately loose me. I became a mom and that’s what I was. Don’t get me wrong! I love being a mom!! But that’s all my identity turned in. I cleaned, cooked and momed. Unfortunately in our society say “ I’m a stay at home mom” does not make people think of how hard we work. It usually brings the thought of “oh you just get to stay home”. And that brought me down. I needed something for me. Now, just a few months in, I am a new person. I still mom and cook and clean, but now I have a purpose, a purpose to help and motivate people and encourage them to be a better them.
