Guess what was waiting when we came home from playing with Giants? #teamail! ( Maybe more about the Forest Giants later ). May 2019 Adventurer box from @fieldtocup got my attention right away: Hidden Treasure Green, Silver Sheng 2012, Hibiscus Hint Oolong, Toasted Breakfast Blend Green, Sweet Ceylon. Each one I would have chosen for myself, but of course each was a surprise. I can't figure how they do this every month! . So, no question, the first try had to be Sweet Ceylon. A sweet fragrance, and a delicate steep. Tannins are ready to burst out of there, so steep it short. Somehow it has the nature of fruit: satisfying sweet aroma, but flavor is more citrus, with a little bite in the steep. Paired perfectly with strawberries, just enough acid to tame the tannins. . . The mailman found my home and handed over my #teamail today!!!! For those of you who followed my story: I was wondering what tea I should drink to celebrate the birth of our daughter. Then, @elifbilginwong came up with the best idea: to buy a teacake, crack it open and let the rest of it age over the following years. Every year we can drink this tea, again for a celebration and to taste how this tea ages. Thanks again for the idea! I'm wondering how long this cake is going to last (and if I'll be able to not touch it for a year ). FYI... that cake would be the #afterpartyenchanter from the one and only @mei_leaf.
