Spring 2017 Jingmai Tian Xiang raw Sheng @farmer.leaf
Bouquet: Everything starts very distinct floral like field flowers & mountain herbs but after its second infusion a very deep and thick vegetable character forms itself out of Ling Zhi dried mushrooms followed by steaming Edamame, lotus roots, zucchini plus a fine deliciously nutty layer of none salted peanuts and almonds.
Liquor: The actual taste is super thick & viscous with an already deep golden coloration while cooling at the back and sides of your tongue and palatal. There isn't much noticeable of those former vegetable steaming notes at first but a lot of this strong field flower and herbal atmosphere - Fresh herbal flowers of marigold, gentian, dandelion & camomile with a hint of vanilla to it plus a herbal aspect of hemp with a tiny hint of parsley. But if you pass this major road once you might discover smaller hidden sideways with those already former named composition of steaming veggies like Edamame, lotus root, mushrooms but also those nutty elements. Within the third infusion the cooling effect changes more into an allover fury coating feel. There is a certain bitterness within this highly enjoyable symphony which forms its potion out of some former named ingredients as almond, gentian, dandelion but also elderflower with a certain hop malty-ness to it. With it's sweet field flower hay herbal spicy echo something frankincense tree resin like swings along too. Inside later infusions you might also get a certain mix of apple and green leaves within the actual taste. What I generally adore is a strong and fragrant beeswax and honey-ish aroma within those emptied cups - love it ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

How is everyone settling into 2019?
At teapro HQ we’ve dived head first into work-mode! Although for us it means tasting lots of teas, which isn’t even work, right?
We’ve managed to accumulate quite a few teas over Christmas that we’d like to review, so let’s crack on!
First on the menu is a luxuriously beautiful brand called @nazanitea We’ve honestly never seen more elegant and ornate tea caddies - what a great present for any tea lover!
@nazanitea specialise in herbal teas and today we’ve tried the Elderflower tisane they’ve sent us.
We haven’t seen elderflower tea on its own before - you’re more likely to find it in blends. However, we were surprised by how tasty it is! Very refreshing and mild, with a sweet aftertaste. If you like elderflower water you’ll be a big fan of this tea!
Have you ever tried elderflower tisane on its own? What did you think?

Baijiguan 3xroasted @wuyiorigin
Bouquet: Within its dry crispy stage ahead everything lies under the sign of Hazelnut cream, pistachio ice cream & roasted pumpkinseeds plus a fine slightly sour layer. Steaming hot and even more aromatic a distinct bamboo basket/bamboo leaf Heicha aka young Liu An atmosphere mixed with the former steaming roasted aspect of hazelnut cream plus the sour note to it is impregnating the air around the tea table.
Liquor: Taste-wise first and foremost it's intensely creamy with an instant hazelnut entrance but also a certain minty chocolatey feel to it a bit like After Eight. There is definitely no fruitiness to it maybe just a tiny hint of raisins if you focus your tasting bugs to it but majorly a wide range of nuts within their roasted form are playing the main parts here. Beside Hazelnut you may also discover layers of walnuts and pistachios within the same realm. The Liquor is lovely and really instantly lovable from the first moment it pleases your tongue and tasting buds. Even for a 3 times roast it never tastes too over roasted. Each moment is very pleasant and after the 4th infusion lighter and generally very soothing and relaxing. Comparing it with the 1 time roast I have to admit I prefer that one a bit more but this doesn't mean that this fellow here was not as good - its clearly different but in a highly enjoyable way I only got my preferences as we all do ~ So Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

As promised the review for the Rougui Wuyi Oolong @wuyiorigin - You can enjoy the whole original set of those pictures and a comparison of the before and after version at my Patreon! Thank you for the support (Link in the Profile)
Bouquet: To be honest I'm much more into lighter or mid roasted Oolongs than those heavy ones and this highly delicious buddy is at a mid roasted level which slightly fades away within the following infusions. Generally it's very sweet woodsy with a dark berry and dried fruits steaming atmosphere of figs & raisins. The sweet wild berry flair is more like the ones of sweet fruit gum version of it.
Liquor: Is so extremely soft, silky creamy within its texture with a deep sweet profile of raisins, dried figs, sweet dark fruit gum berries like blueberry & especial black currants but also flavors of sweet caramelized popcorn plus a sweetish woodsy base layer. There is also such a thick dark forest honey layer to it which generally leaves a sugary tingling feeling around your teeth. Later it gets sweeter & sweeter but also with a good layer of lye pretzel plus its ingredient of baking soda in some way. Lately I really enjoy a good sweet roasted Oolong and this buddy here is definitely another fine example of a well composed Wuyi ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

Lao Cong Mei Zhan Wuyi Oolong @moychay
Bouquet: Very nutty chocolaty - those massive nearly full preserved leaves looked astonishing and foretold a good session which indeed happened.
Liquor: The taste is so complex it is hard to put it just in a view words. On one side there is this unusual milky chocolate taste which actually really leaves a layer within your mouth like actual milk - like a milky hot chocolate plus a nice additive of roasted nuts in this case without a doubt full on hazelnuts. But with the second steeping a lot of dark fruitiness also shows up like raspberries, dried figs and raisins with some kind of a herbal floral scent to it but without a doubt the most unique and uncommon development is this milky chocolate touch which is a major part of this tea through all the stages! There is something else here more than just describing a taste and scent to this special tea - I call it "sitting in front of wisdom" - it's like if you would sit in front of an old tea master drinking this very tea and being in this moment with a connection to something very wise & timeless - I hope this makes any sense to you all A very calming, warming full bodied meditative Wuyi Yancha! A great example how a perfectly roasted Oolong should be ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

Love it! What is your major tea you can't live without? ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!

Bouquet: Everything starts unbelievable thick and dense creamy already within its scenting stage plus intensely mouthwatering with an astringent flair to it. Those empty cups exhale a beautiful bouquet of beeswax. The whole atmosphere of those field flowery aspects is massive! There is a lot to discover a real treasure of all senses. This unfolds further in aromatic waves of dandelion & daisies meeting camomile, while gentian share place and stage with Greek mountain tea plus bathing within a thick corn syrup.
Liquor: Taste-wise similar aspects are meeting on the way like all those former named herbal and field floral aspects. Beside a very tick and creamy liquor this whole corn syrup part mixed with a cereal taste to it incorporates a very important layer. There is such a nice deep character to it which leads into the deepest core of a with mist and moistly atmosphere filled jungle. At first there is not much of a bitterness but after a couple of steeps it definitely shows up. Quite interesting if you consider that the bitter aspects normally tend to develop their unfolding within the first stages not the later ones. Those deep golden cups are a total eye catcher. Within the later infusions a more mineral note shows up with a certain subtle sea salty touch to it and a fine peppery note to it. This buddy is definitely a warming tea with a masterful balanced body & bouquet ~ Cheers everybody & may amazing tea be with you!
