Serious question for you guys. Since I moved a few months ago, I've been letting the kitties sleep with me. They didn't at my last place, but they had access to another human. The thing is Fergie snores like a 300lb drunk man and Duffy starts bothering me for food some times as early as 2:30am! Is it cruel to kick them out of the bedroom? I'm gone for 10 hours a day and feel guilty shutting them out, but maybe having a well-rested human is to their advantage? This has been a difficult weekend. While still processing the passing of my grandmother a couple of weeks ago and while our hearts are still shattered from the sudden passing of our cat Myrrh in October, we had to say goodbye to another member of our family. Our cat Flynn, who we adopted back in 2011, had not been doing well for several months and on Friday, his health completely crashed. I’m lucky that I was able to take the entire day to cuddle with him, and tell him all of the things I needed him to hear. My husband was also lucky that he too got to say a real goodbye. We ended Flynn’s pain Saturday morning. He has left a hole in this family that will never be fully healed. And those are his whiskers. I’d been saving every shed whisker I found throughout the years. I do for all my cats. I’m a little nuts.

Fun facts about the kits: 1. Duffy is a "tongue tipper." Tongue tipping is when a cat shows just the tip of its tongue outside its mouth. It may be something it does occasionally or all the time. It may be due to the structure of the mouth, teeth or tongue or it may simple be a bad habit. Even when Duffy had lots of teeth, he tipped his tongue! 2. Exotic Shorthairs or "zotties" were originally developed by crossing a Persian with an American Shorthair. I adopted both kitties from @helpingpersiancats . There are many adoptable full breeds out there. If you decide to buy a kitten, please ensure the cattery is reputable. 3. Duff has a condition called stomatitis that has resulted in major dental problems. This is something that is more common than you would think! Luckily, regular checkups and the occasional surgery keep Duffy's mouth feeling good enough to eat his food and Fergie's too! He is down to 7 toofles and up to a gallon of slobber a day!
