Over the weekend, @jessica_michaela and @quincyacy got hitched! One of the most rewarding parts of my profession is seeing all the months of planning come to fruition. It's only topped by seeing, nay, FEELING, the raw, palpable and genuine excitement of two people who are madly in love, that cannot wait to be husband and wife. These two did things in style, and incorporated their personalities into the details from a circular ceremony setting (yes!), to custom built staging to a surprise groom's cake. Today we celebrated two former cadets as they graduated from the Goldenwest College Police Academy and became sworn police officers. . Both Officer Burke and Officer Haney worked at the HBPD for multiple years as cadets while they attended college and worked alongside officers in the field. . It was a special day for both of the officers, their family and friends, and many of us here at the department as we watched Class President Officer Haney deliver a speech, lead the class in drill, and win the Director’s Award, which is a distinguished award chosen by her classmates and the staff. . Officer Burke also represented the department very well by winning the Firearms Proficiency Award for best marksmanship. . We are extremely proud of both of these new officers, who will be officially sworn in to the HBPD on September 19th. .
