Есть ещё порох в пороховницах? Скорее да, чем нет, хотя фильм неоднозначный. По факту перед нами больше семейная драма об упущенных возможностях, чем криминальный фильм. Впрочем было интересно понаблюдать за бытностью т.н. "мулов" работающих на наркокартели Но на мой взгляд фильму не хватает динамики, какой-то интриги что ли и главное эффектной концовки, как это было например в Гран Торино!!! Главное из-за чего стоит посмотреть кино - это старина Иствуд, он чертовски хорош в свои 88!!! Imagine Clint Eastwood’s character in Gran Torino, and place him in a care-free light handed Drug Crime drama.... The structure and barebones of the production are basically the same and all too familiar blue print that Eastwood follows on films of this nature (crime dramas). However the story lacks a solid tone, fleshed out characters and as a result feels mostly surface. The first act pushes along very quickly, then we get into a sort of repetitive drug run streak as a second act and it all culminates into an anticlimactic finale. It’s certainly not the worst I’ve come across this year. There are a few fun and humorous moments that make you giggle and chuckle, but unfortunately those very elements are what deviates the tone of the film from being that raw and heavy crime drama one might expect from Eastwood’s final outing. It might just make you wish Eastwood had stopped at Gran Torino. When I saw the trailer, I had high expectations. After 10 minutes into the film at the cinema, those expectations were met already. The Mule (2018) was deep and had a perfect story line, with the protagonist having a problem at the start and we see how he overcomes it, that's always a good set up for any type of story. ⠀ .⠀ Clint Eastwood still got it, quite similar to his last film Gran Torino, but with less violence, and somehow more girls. I loved his grandpa styled acting, the hunched back and naiveness suited him really well. And for Bradley Cooper, it's good to see them both back together again since American Sniper, lovely chemistry.⠀ .⠀ If you want a deep and meaningful slow paced film, this is it.
