First shoes I’ve done this year (‍♀️), inspired by the musical ‘wicked’. • • For various reasons I won’t go into, I’ve really been struggling with going out beyond my appointments or my art classes. I’m working on that in therapy, but honestly it’s set in quite badly right now. However... this evening I am headed out, in support of some extremely talented friends and classmates. @musical_theatre_dunedin has been showing the @wicked_musical . I love musicals but haven’t seen this one. My friend Emma @em_r329 has choreographed it (seriously talented right there!), & I’m excited to see some friends perform @l1bbyyyyyy @cadynemarie ! So I’m braving going beyond my comfort zone, but I figure this is a time where that extra effort is worth it. • • I don’t believe in always pushing past these limits because I think you have to respect where you’re at in any stage in your journey-& I know I’m being challenged in other areas of life right now, so staying in more than usual is self care in many ways. There are some positives to where I’m at though, which is that I’m enjoying art again. I’m loving the classes I’m taking and have loads of ideas for new pointe shoes (though wow it makes such a mess of my house!). • • Art is a talent that whilst I often say is natural to me, when I think about it, I worked so so hard on it growing up. I would pass on a lot of things & even changed schools largely to challenge myself artistically. I probably spent as much time on art as all of my other subjects combined, so I’m not sure I’m naturally talented rather than naturally determined & stubborn when I want to achieve something. • • Anyways as I say there is plenty I’m struggling with right now, but there is also loads I’m feeling really proud and positive about. And I am genuinely looking forward to being able to support my talented friends this evening. • • I actually didn’t even plan it but I chose a pair of pointe shoes, based on the shape and condition etc and then clicked that they were donated to me by AKA dance wear in Sydney, c/o Mrs Holloway-Emma’s mum, so it was obviously meant to be!

Repost from @doc_malcolm_designs Last night, I finally got to see one the bands that had a huge impact on my childhood soundtrack - The Church ▫️ ‘Starfish’ contains 10 tracks that are pure gold, including the smash hit “Under The Milky Way”, and my personal favorite “Reptile”... which I practically listened to every day I would go to school as a kid. ▫️ After all these years of recording and touring, The Church certainly remain under the radar (outside of Australia), but they are as strong as ever and continue to put out quality music.
