My trick to minimal hassle entertaining - freshly bake bread and serve still warm out of the oven... no one cares what else you cook because they're too busy swooning over the warm fluffy bread! I know that bread is scary to many home cooks, but I promise with a little practice it becomes super easy. And with a Thermomix or thermo cooker you don't even need to knead! Here are my beginner tips to the best home-baked loaf of bread…
⭐️ 1. THE WETTER THE BETTER
If you can easily shape the dough like play dough, it's too dry! For the best bread, you want a wet, sticky dough. My favourite bread recipes have at least 75% hydration, meaning you use 75% of the weight of the flour in water. Different flours from different seasons will perform differently, so no matter what the recipe you always need to assess yourself if the dough is hydrated enough, adding more water if necessary. ⭐️ 2. SLOW AND STEADY
The longer the dough proves, the better the end result will be. Obviously, if you've made your dough at 4pm and are wanting bread for dinner you might put it in a very low oven to get it moving (we've all been there), but if you've got the time, give it the time! I sometimes make my dough the day before I plan to cook it and let it prove very, very slowly in the fridge.
⭐️ 3. TIN IT
Shaping dough can be tricky, especially the first few times. You need to fold and twist it quickly and confidently so that the surface tension is tight and it holds its shape. Practice makes perfect with this one, but I think a bread tin can hide all manner of shaping faux pas so is a great place for beginners to start.
⭐️ 4. HOT!
Your oven needs to be HOT before your dough goes in! The hotter the better. Make sure your oven has thoroughly preheated, and if your oven runs cooler add ten or twenty degrees onto the specified temperature. Have the oven door open for as short a time as possible, and once the bread goes in do not open the oven again for at least 15 minutes.

A long time ago I used to bake different types of breads, pastries and many more things but after coming from CIA I concentrated more on my cooking than baking. But recently after getting #Thermomix just because I want to try and make every single thing in that machine I baked one of my old and favourite recipes Cheesy Pull Apart Bread! I made this dough in 2 minutes in that machine and it was perfect. I added some rye flour to my old recipe and it turned out pretty good!

Hi there! I'm Alyce, and I always forget that everyday I have new people joining my community... you haven't all been following me from day one! So let me tell you a bit about myself, and why I do what I do. I'm 30, a classic A-type personality who never feels like I have enough hours (mainly because I overcommit and try and cram too much into every day!), coffee is my vice, my veggie garden is my happy place and I can't sleep without listening to an audiobook (usually Harry Potter!). I published my first #Thermomix cookbook when I was 22, and started my business with my two sisters while simultaneously completing a Law/Commerce degree (and I am so proud of the three of us!). I have no formal cooking training whatsoever, and I'm far from perfect in the kitchen (seriously I can't cook rice on the stove). But what I am, is just like you at home - I know your skill level and I get your struggles. And I strongly believe that cooking from scratch is life-changing stuff. But, but, but... ⭐️
I am the first to admit that cooking can often feel like a chore I've got to cram into my already busy day - I get the challenge! Takeaway and prepackaged food can look very appealing... I know. And that's what first attracted me to the #Thermomix and #ThermoCookers - I saw how they could make cooking so much quicker and easier.... meaning people would do it more!! BUT, I soon realised the machine is nothing without the recipes to use it... like an iPhone with no apps... kind of useless, right!? So, I started creating my own recipes, ensuring they were firstly DELICIOUS, but equally important that they are DOABLE. Short ingredient lists, clear and concise instructions, beautiful photos to guide and inspire. Stuff you WANT to cook, nothing intimidating. Keeping it quick, easy and REAL! That’s my cooking philosophy, and that’s what I bring to my work. If I can do it, you can too. You’ve got this! Thanks for joining me anything else you want to know? alyce xo
The first thing I made today in my new thermomix was vegetable stock paste using my own homegrown zucchini, tomatoes, carrots, herbs and homegrown garlic (not grown by me)! Feels awesome to know exactly what is going into this stock paste, knowing it has been grown free of chemicals and toxins.

This chicken sandwich filling is SO yum!I poached 2 chook breasts, shredded them on speed 5 for 3 seconds, then added chopped celery, toasted walnuts, a few tablespoons of whole egg mayo, chopped herbs, onion powder and salt & pepper and mixed on reverse until combined. Delicious in sandwiches or even on its own
Goma is getting #thermotherapy ❤️ Nothing wrong with him but apparently this kind of therapy is quite helpful for good blood circulation. Goma was a little bit nervous in the beginning but became very calm and comfortable in the end
