I feel like I have been playing the pencil game with my students ever since my first year of teaching. Pencils went missing all the time. My electric pencil sharpener broke twice. Students were always wanting their pencils sharpened at the worst times of the day. So I’m starting something new this year. Fingers crossed it works. I bought a class set of toothbrush holders and cut out vinyl numbers with my @officialcricut. In each toothbrush holder students will have 3 or 4 sharpened pencils. At the end of each day students will put their pencil containers in a bin so that I can sharpen their pencils after school if and when needed. If I see a pencil that needs to be replaced I will do that as well. I’m hoping that this will remove the “Can I borrow a pencil?” questions. I might modify the system as I start the school year depending on the needs of my students. #teachertip #teachertips #classroompencils

EXCITING NEWS! Nobody tells you how hard it is to get pregnant. Nobody. Our journey included an angel baby and almost two years of praying. •Room Transformation• I LOVE teaching fractions because there are so many real world concepts to use to help make connections that allow for a more concrete understanding! Even though we work on them all year, I love doing a room transformation to bring it all together and practice skills in various ways! Every kid learns different and this is just one way to reach out to all those different learning styles at once with different activities! Also!!
