WEN’s 3RD Triennial opens at the Museum of Printing this Saturday, April 20th. . Join us for an Opening Reception from 1-3 pm including a gallery talk and wood engraving demonstration by Evan Charney at 1:30 pm! . Pictured is “Hill Farm” by Anna Hogan (1921-2017), one of many fine works in this juried show featuring 64 prints by 37 artists from across the United States and abroad. . Anna was a good friend and long-time supporter of the Museum and her work is on permanent exhibit. Having a piece in this Third Triennial brought her much happiness in her last months. Thanks to a very special donation from Anna’s family of her papers and working materials, we now know “Hill Farm” was inspired by the Boston Hill Farm in North Andover (“view from side road, white buildings against the dark hill behind”). Created by Anna in 1994, it was printed by Master Printer Herb Fox of Fox Graphics and published in the “Catholic Worker” newspaper. . Come see the wonderful work in this Wood Engravers’ Network exhibit and enjoy Anna Hogan’s display as well. The show will be here until June 22nd, after which it travels to Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin for the next leg of its three-year journey. .
