Always ready for adventure. And learning to go more where the wind blows ~ adapting myself along the way ~ enjoying the journey...what you have to do when you’re in a hot air balloon amiright? Oh and to be able to do this in a place like Bagan with its temples as far as the eye can see. Yeah understatement to say that seeing the sunrise while you float over the landscape is rather spectacular. Have you ever been on a hot air balloon? Where?

Laissez les bons temps rouler ~ let the good times roll ~ I say bring it on and how New Orleans delivered. So you may be wondering how I end up where I do when I travel and this trip is so me through and through. I was teaching someone how to use google flights and saw the incredible fare here so I decided to book it. Come on $76 roundtrip is too good to pass up amiright?!?! I solo travel because there’s so much of the world I want to see (or revisit) and why wait for someone else to be available? I don’t think what I do is brave but rather it’s about priorities and deciding that I would rather go than stay home and be wistful about it. So off I went and my time in the Big Easy was incredible to say the least ~ attended Pride, danced a lot, admired the beautiful architecture of the city, visited a Museum of Death, listened to some really great live music, went on a swamp tour, danced some more, ate soooo much good food and slept way too little but would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! And as y’all know, at the end of the day, it’s always about the people for me. I love how small the world is in so many ways...to be on the shuttle with someone who happens to be staying at the same hostel to meeting someone who worked at a hostel I stayed at in Porto to just meeting the most incredible people from all around the world and a couple of those people I’ll definitely meet up with again especially my Scottish partner in crime. Life is indeed beautiful and so is this world ~ and so blessed to be sharing it with such amazing people. So here’s to a weekend of adventure and being open to the universe ~ I’ve learned that it allows the right people to come into your life at the right time.
