Finally finished: I changed the print orientation and split the bow and lever into three parts. Now the holes for the 8mm bearings are vertical and don't end up a mess in print.

Can you overthink things? Possibly ... Here's my belt clamp block. It has a guiding path for each belt of the #corexy mechanics of my pen plotter, and a block with teeth that gets squeezed into the gt2 belt if the lever with the eccentric cylinder is moved to the left.

Hopefully the final version of the pen plotter pen holder. This one uses tiny 693zz ball bearings to get a smooth pen raise/drop action. Five bearings on the main rail, and three more on the second rail. And it runs super smooth after i finally figured out how to mount the bearings with deformed washers and wood screws (see previous post)

A set of three pen holders: newest addition is a natural/clear PLA print. Surprisingly that one had no issues whatsoever with the fine prongs of the lift lever that the other required some post-print surgery to fix ... I've tried steel rods for this version, and they add about 20 grams of pen pressure due to their weight. They also remove a great deal of friction that the dull aluminum imparts on the ball bearings, so this version slides even easier. Takes a bit longer to cut to length, of course ... next step: improving the belt clamps!

Well, it was the belt tension (or lack thereof) all along: my diy plotter finally closes its curves as it should. The steel core gt2 belt does require a fair amount of tension, so I'm going to add a belt tensioner that can be easily disengaged for storage. Just need to design one in the first place ... #newchallenge

Thanks to @pauls_3d_things inspiration, i grabbed my creme brulé maker, a discarded 3dprint, a m3 screw (long, definitely want a long one), and one of those newfangled threaded inserts that are all the rage with the kids these days ... And just look at this! This stuff works! And i don't even need to soil my soldering iron
