These two are hard work but they make life worth living a lot of you have been asking me about routine/tips with my twins and its not perfect but thought I’d share what worked for us! - The newborn stage: Babies don’t know they are supposed to sleep at night and be awake in the daytime, thats why you need to teach them. The health visitor told us to keep the lights off at bedtime, no talking/playing even if they are awake. And during the day try keep them awake as much as possible by talking/playing/changing nappy/clothes however, you need to catch them when they are sleepy and ready for a nap! I’m so glad we did this now they are good sleepers at night, they do wake up for 1/2 feeds sometimes but they go back to sleep straight away Allahumabarik and are fully awake around 7/8am. When they’re about one month then you need to start implementing a routine especially at bedtime. We start our routine at 7pm sharp with a bath where I let them play for as long as possible, massage with coconut oil, change into nappy/pyjamas, full feed and ready for bed. This routine does tires them out and they are usually asleep by 9pm. Also, if you have twins its helpful to keep them on the same schedule during the day, and getting a twin cushion is good for feed-time! I am formula feeding my twins and they are developing fine and healthy MashAllah. Over 36 weeks now!! So I’ve almost made it to 37 weeks, which is considered full term for twins! I’m pretty uncomfy! When I manage to get some sleep, I then wake up for snacks through the night! Feel like I’m constantly eating!! Putting clothes on is a chore! I have to lie down to put trousers on and Jonnie has to put my socks on for me! I stopped driving a couple of weeks ago too! ‍♀️ BUT after all the stress over the last couple of weeks, when I feel the two of them having a wrestle inside my belly it’s so special and makes it all worth it!
