Hi hello from Spain • I haven’t been posting much bc I’ve been on vacation for the last week. I spent most of it in Portugal and, of all the wonderful places I’ve been in the world, it definitely took the prize. I completely fell in love with both Lisbon and Lagos, and so spent most of it off my phone just enjoying life! • I did get a chance to read quite a bit and finished Alix Ohlin’s latest novel Dual Citizens (kindly sent to me by @houseofanansi). I blew through it and very much enjoyed it from front to back. • I’ll do a more detailed recap in a few days/ when I return to reality, but for now I’m just going to continue living that social media free life for a bit longer while I journey around Spain.☀️ • Do you like taking social media breaks sometimes to recharge? • #alixohlin • #booksbooksbooks

#QOTD : What books do you think have confusing plots . . . A Map Of Days By Ransom Riggs This is the 4th book of the series of "MISS PEREGRINES'S PECULIAR CHILDREN." I haven't read the previous books from this series, but now I am gonna read all the books from the previous trail. In fact i will read each and every single book in  this series. . . So the story starts from Florida in Jacob's house. Jacob Portman who was introduced to this peculiar world by his grandfather Abraham Portman aka Abe. Jacob discovered some secrets inside his grandfather's abandoned house’s bunker. He found some leads for their next mission. He got some leads from Abe’s friend. Emma and Jacobe came close to each others during their previous hunt for peculiar monsters. But deep down, Emma still loves Abe, who was her previous boyfriend. . . Miss Peregrine tried her best to keep her children into the LOOP of Devil's Acre, but eventually she failed and Jacob, Emma and hollowgasts, time loops, wights set out for their next hunt to the era of 1940, time of WORLD WAR II. There they met with Noor who is an Asian Peculiar. When she finds out her peculiarity , she hides herself from the world. She got the power to consume every light from the core place and can create the place darkest dark. But due to some adverse circumstances they separated from each other. They tried a lot to intercede with Ymbryne Council but failed. So here the plot will take a twist. And you will find some pictures, which is related to some abrupt incidents they will pass. . . Just because I didn't read the previous books, so almost I had to read the book like a blind, and the reason is the slow start. But once the story took its pace. I was enjoying the book like I do enjoy Merry-Go-Round. Complete mixture of fun, adventurous, horror, suspense and heartbreaks, and infinite road trips to another world of 1940. I loved the idea of those pictures between the pages of this book. This book can be enjoyed by teenagers to a middle-aged people as well. Story has been compiled with some unbounded mystery and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thanks to @penguinindia for gifting me this book to review. Ratings : 3.75/5 ⭐️

#TheGirlInRed tour post! Massive thank you to @titanbooks for including me in the book tour . I read this book in a matter of days, it’s such an easy read which tells the story of Little Red in a totally different light! I couldn’t get enough of the writing, the pace and the whole story line! There’s tension, gore and everything in between! I don’t want to ruin the story so that’s all your getting out of me An easy 4 from me! . I also managed to ask the author a question check it out below... . Q. What was the inspiration for the retelling of such a classic tale? . A. For me, most stories start with a question or an image. For THE GIRL IN RED I saw a woman in a red hoodie holding a bloody axe. I wanted to know who she was and how she got there, so I wrote the story so I could find out. . . . Short blurb: When a disease destroys most of the U.S. population Red and her brother Adam decide to try and reach their paternal grandmother, who lives over 200 miles away. Adam wants to join a quarantine camp, thinking it’s the only way to survive in this new world, but Red isn’t letting herself get shut away. Red is about to find out that the woods are deep and dark, and there are far worse things than wolves out in the world. Also Guys it’s available Now!!! I would fully recommend . . @authorchristinahenry . •• #biblophile #book #bookstagram #bookaddict #bookblogger #bookshelf #bookworm #bookish #booknerd #booklover #constantreader #bookphotography #coverlove #bookporn #stephenkingbooks #crime #thriller #psychologicalthriller #reading #instareads #stephenking #unitedbookstagram #instabooks #bookaddict #Bookishfeatures #horrorlover #newpost #lukeatwhatimreading

Hello readers ❤️ today I went a little bit crazy with my editing, I know I wanted to experiment a little bit more with some new Photoshop brushes and I must say I enjoy the result, even though it isn’t as perfect as I hoped. It’s my first try though, so hopefully I’ll improve! I plan on including more of this type of edits in my pics, because I enjoy playing with photoshop so much and I want to be a little bit more artistic with my content! Hopefully you’ll like this idea! reading update: I eventually picked up a new book — Crown of Midnight. I figured there wasn’t anything better to get me out of my reading slump than dear “old” Sarah J. Maas ❤️ Throne of Glass wasn’t anything special, so that’s why I postponed reading the sequel, but her books always know how to grab my attention and that’s exactly what CoM is doing at the moment! I’m still very early in the book though, so I can’t say anything about it yet. Life update: still anxious, still fighting dark thoughts, still feeling defeated. This time of the year does nothing good for my mental health, but I will keep biting the bullet until everything it’s over. ☼ q o t d ~ the last text you sent is the opening line of your debut novel what would be your debut line? Mine would be “When?” I mean, it could’ve been worse! (qotd stolen by the lovely @lifebytheink ❤️)

THE ATLAS OF REDS AND BLUES by Devi S. Laskar. . A woman is shot by the police outside her home in an affluent American neighbourhood. As she bleeds on her driveway she reflects back on all the significant episodes throughout her life that might have led to this point. We find out that she is from Indian Bengali origin but was born in America and has faced racism and microaggression all her life. She is married to a white man and has three daughters. One of whom is also being racially bullied in school. . What I liked about this new release is the topic Laskar has picked up and highlighted. Being a poet, her prose had a slight touch of the lyrical. Very crisp chapters and some as short as one line making it a quick paced read. Story moves from flashbacks to her childhood, to her marriage to present day. Another great touch was the history of the evolution of the Barbie Doll since the 60's when it was conceived. How it started off as a trailblazing career girl and how it became this insanely proportioned extremely underweight model of universal beauty. Giving many a girl severe body and colour complexes. Barbie represented in this book what "blue eyes" represented in Toni Morrison's brilliant book The Bluest Eye. . What I had trouble with was the same thing that I pointed out in my last post. The absentee father/husband. But in this book that trope went even further and combined two of my book peeves. An absentee figure who also remained nameless..save for the moniker "my hero" or "man of the hour". Infact none of the characters in the book had names. The daughters were "eldest, middle and youngest" and the cherry on the cake was the woman herself who was referred to as "The Real Thing" throughout the book...I would have trouble taking seriously anyone who called themselves that, wouldn't you? . All in all a good attempt bringing up important issues of the day. . Thank you @littlebrown for the free review copy. The book came out last week. . #littlebrownbooks #devilaskar #theatlasofredsandblues #modernfiction #bookstagram #bookcommunity #ilovereading #unitedbookstagram #swissreader #igreads #livrestagram #contentcreator #bibliophile

Happy Tuesday friends! Well unfortunately last night did not end the way I wanted it for the @raptors and losing by 1 point hurts! A lot!! I kind of wish we actually lost by 10! . . Anyway Thursday is game 6 and although we won’t be at home - I hope we finish it! There was a lot of emotions last night from both teams. Seeing Kevin Durant get hurt and taken out of the stadium on crutches - is never something you want to see in sports. I wish him a speedy recovery - he’s one of the best players in the league and his support for his team is very evident! . . This picture was taken in the heart of the city last week outside a used bookstore! . . Am I the only one that takes pictures of books anywhere?!? Lol! Tell me some of the places you snap a quick picture! Hope you all have a great day! ❤️ . . #toronto #bookstagrammers #bookworm #bookstagram #booknerd #booklover #booklove #reading #read #reader #bookobsessed #bookaholic #bookaddict #bibliophile #bookish #unitedbookstagram #justread #lovetoread #canadianblogger #bookstagrammer #igreads #booksbooksbooks #booksofig #bookishcanadians #bookcommunity #bookshark #booksharks

Hello all my lovely bookstagram friends!! ⁣ I am beyond excited today to share with you this book and my review! I want to say a huge thank you to @kokilabooks and @penguinteen for letting me take part in this blog tour! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Patron Saints Of Nothing by @randyribay is definitely one of the most eye opening books I've read in a very long time. The book follows Jay Reguero as he travels back to the Philippines to uncover the truth of what happened to his cousin Jun, who was murdered as a part of President Duterte's war on drugs. ⁣ As gripping as it is lyrical, Patron Saints of Nothing is a page-turning portrayal of the struggle to reconcile faith, family, and immigrant identity.⁣ ⁣ ****⁣ ⁣ I will be honest, this wasn't the type of book I would normally read but boy I was pleasantly surprised! I can't remember the last time I felt so many conflicting emotions from a book. While reading this book I had to take a step back and reevaluate a lot of things in my life. This book will hit you in the feels and make you rethink a lot of everyday things. This is definitely a special book that I can't wait for the rest of the world to read! I am truly honored to have received an advanced readers copy of this book. ⁣ ⁣ The publication for this novel is for June 18, 2019! Do yourself a favor and mark this one on your calendars, and snag it as soon as it goes on sale!
