I often get asked how I do it “ALL.” Well, I don’t! But if you want to know how I do what I do, here goes.
1. I usually rotate days with what my major focus is. 1-2 days I will focus on cleaning, then 1-2 days will be on building my business & goals. Another may be spent running errands & Sundays are always focused on spiritual & physical rejuvenation. It’s important to note that when I’m focused on one particular priority, the other areas do suffer. The rotation is dictated much by the nature of what is most pressing. If I have a work deadline, I focus on it until it’s done, but then, house cleaning here I come! And no, I don’t have a maid. Wish I did, but I don’t. ♀️ Some days I just need to relax, so I do!
2. I try and do little things as I go. For instance, if on a day that I’m working, I see dishes upstairs & I’m heading down anyway, I’ll take them down and set them in the sink to reduce my workload on a cleaning day. Things are DEFINITELY harder during the summer! The house becomes a disaster so much faster than during the school year. So, looking forward to some relief soon
3. If things get too out of hand, I will ask my family to help me out (I should be better about giving them daily chores anyway!)
4. I am learning to be patient with myself when things aren’t perfect. They never are, so why stress about it? It really helps nothing. ❤️
5. This should be number 1, but I try and start my days with a prayer and some spiritual reading. I feel like when I do this, it sets the tone for my day and my mood, and honestly feels like I am more productive on those days. 6. Of course, exercise is important. My goal is 5 days a week right now, but on some weeks I only get in 2-3 sessions. I’m not very lean atm, but I have just finished antibiotics for a double ear infection, got off vacation & I am focusing on a project that I’m very excited about, so stay tuned!
Some people take blocks of their day to accomplish something in every area of their life. I haven’t found this to be effective for me. It’s like I’m chasing 3 rabbits and catch none. ❌❌❌
So, what are your tips & tricks to stay organized? I could def use them!
Do you remember fighting over clothes with any of your siblings?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We had our first this morning - - - Rigg came down in the same shirt as Jonah + J COULD NOT deal. Twinning is NOT winning for older bro. I didn’t step in, wanted to see how it’d play out. Rigg wasn’t stoked, but he ended up changing before we left for school. You betchoobooty he changed right back into that tee after we dropped J off at school for the day. (Swipe for proof) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4 sisters, 1 brother + I dunno how my mom did it, but none of us have a single memory fighting over clothes. My sisters + I still share to this day.
Can’t forget the 1 in 10 dads (and partners) that also experience depression after bringing home a baby.
We’ve heard of dad expressing they wish they could have helped more, unexpected outcomes during birth (PTSD), sadness with returning back to work so quickly (sometimes as soon as two weeks!), financial stressors and burden, etc.
This beautiful diagram (by @taylorkulik) shows a HUMAN truth: although we are experiencing different circumstances, feelings are universal. Depression, uncertainty, guilt, exhaustion, ALL of the above can be universal.

Sandboarding at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park near Kanab has definitely been added to my Southern Utah bucket list! You can rent a sandboard or sled at the park for around $25 or you can bring your own old skis, snowboards or sled (with binding and boots that you don't mind getting a lot of sand in)! You’ll get a great workout hiking and riding down the dunes, so be sure to wear comfortable clothes, bring tons of water and avoid being there during the hottest part of the day if you can! See our stories for more info about shredding the dunes! Thanks to @meandering.may for sharing these awesome photos of their experience!
