From US based V&R Dan Yablonka Guitars. 1969 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop “It is a rarity anymore to find late 60s Gold Tops especially 1 piece body P-90 models. No volute ... no Made in USA!! This particular example comes from the era most 60s gold top enthusiasts call the "Middle era" although this is from the very earliest part of that category. "Early" category means 1 piece body, 1 piece neck and mostly small head stocks BUT the change to large head stocks DID happen in phase 1 on the late 68s. "Middle" refers to 1 piece body and 3 piece mahogany neck which this one is BUT most all middle models got mini humbuckers. Only the earliest incarnation had P-90s making this guitar a VERY desirable example. Also during the Middle segment most models came the Volute and made in USA stamp. THIS GUITAR HAS NEITHER!! Sporting 2 very strong P-90s and pot codes that the bare date code 6826 meaning exact mid 1968 26th week. The only newer parts are an era correct output jack and a reproduction pick guard (and we are on the hunt for an orig. If we locate one it will be included!!). An extremely pro refret was performed with orig style frets!! Some of these weigh in at just under a ton but this is a very easily played 9 lbs 7 oz's. Comes with the original rectangular 1969 case likely worth $500 by itself.
